Very enjoyable sojourn at Charters Inn. Our host was very congenial and friendly. We were three people. We enjoyed our conversation with with our host Jerry Lesperance. His wild blueberry crepes were absolutely delicious. Located close to good restarants and to the harbour.

Room Tip: No comments Bed were very confortable

We had the good fortune to stay at this great little B & B recently and were really pleased with our rooms. The beds were really comfortable and our host Gerry went out of his way to make us feel at home and relaxed. The food was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. We look forward to going back again next year. Thank you Gerry for making our stay so memorable. Jackie Dennison

This B&B is terrific. It's hard to pick a favourite aspect of my couple of days here.

Host: Gerry is so accommodating, easy to get along with, full of great stories and an UNBELIEVABLE chef. He GENUINELY wants you to enjoy yourself, and that makes all the difference in the world. He's a well-travelled guy and KNOWS GREAT SERVICE.

Food: It is superb. It could pass for high-end restaurant food easily - even the presentation of it on your plate!

Accommodation: I felt spoiled (in a good way of course) in the room on the main floor. It's very roomy, feels very private, and has a huge cozy bed with a TV on the wall. I've stayed at some Fairmont hotel rooms and liked this room way better.

This place is great down to the last detail, no 'cut corners' here. I can tell the host has learned lessons through his travels and working in many restaurants over the years, and as a result makes sure his guests get the best possible experience. I Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have never been to a B and B mostly from horror stories from others, however, the experience at this B and B can easily put any doubts about the whole B and B experience to rest.

Gerry was an excellent host and a wonderful chef with homemade creations that could put some of my families best recipes to shame. The quality was out of this world! The bed alone was worth the visit, the bed was as wide as I am tall (I'm 6'3'' !) and was one of the most comfortable sleeps I've had away from home in a long time. Having a patio to relax and read on with plenty of shade made the afternoons quite pleasant.

The building itself is gorgeous being of a Victorian style house built in the 1870s with hardwood oak and cherry staircases, floors, mold and trim work that for a house this old shows little to no wear or tear, quite a feat that adds to the elegance of the visit and coming from an old Victorian house myself, I know how hard this feat is to accomplish.

We were quite close to all the major streets and our host proved to be an excellent guide with excellent suggetions. Overall, truly a wonderful stay that I would look forward to repeating in the future.

P.S. The food and the stories alone are worth a visit not to mention the good rooms, fireplace, patio and spacious rooms/bed within a truly wonderful building.

We were under the impression that our bedroom in this B&B has an ensuite bathroom. We were sorely mistaken. Our so called "ensuite" bathroom was a closet with a toillet crammed into it. Whether you are a man or a women, you cannot shut the door while you are doing your business. The fireplace, portayed on the website, is not on the floor, but a gaudy, mirrored, wall fixture that we didn't even use despite the cold weather. Our walk out porch was blocked by a writing desk, which was for the best, because it technically wasn't a porch that had physical access. Why didn't it have physical access? It was blocked by a writing desk with no explanation of why it was not accessible.

We were unpleasantly surprised to discover that we had to share a shower with six other people, despite the fact that we thought we had our own ensuite bathroom.

The only saving grace to my boyfriend's 50th birthday celebration, was that Gerry, the proprietor was an excellent host and chef. This was out worst experience ever at a Bed and Breakfast and we have stayed at quite a few in the past and have never been this unpleasantly surprised.

The Charters Inn is an 1875 brick home with a large curved porch with period gingerbread detailing under the eves that presents an attractive approach.
Inside the home, you are welcomed by lovingly restored baseboards and a cherry wood banister. The home is spotless. Our bedroom was comfortable with a quality mattress, covered in sheets that a drill sargeant could bounce a quarter.
The home is just a couple of blocks from the main street and the waterfront...very close to all of the evening's dining and later entertainment.
Gerry, the proprietor was a great host and conversationalist. He served a breakfast consisting of quality Hawaiian Kona coffee, freshly baked bread and a lovely eggs benedict with a fruit bowl as a side plus many other goodies.
In summary, the Charters Inn and Gerry Lesperance represent what a well run B&B can offer over a hotel. This was our first stay. It won't be our last. Barry & Patricia S.

My husband and I stayed for a few nights in August 2012. Gerry was a terrific host! His breakfasts are a gourmet gift and he went out of his way to accommodate our food preferences. The room was spacious and well appointed with a private bathroom and separate entrance. Gerry took extra time to talk with us about the area once he learned my husband was interviewing for a job. Highly recommend this B & B!
