“A nice week stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

Very comfortable and clean room, excellent service. A bit disappointed that the restaurant was not operating, however a nice continental breakfast was offered and there are restaurants within walking distance

I travel a fair bit for work. It's a not-for-profit agency without a lot of money, so I my standards are quite reasonable. Given that this was in a smaller town, I wasn't expecting a Toronto luxury hotel. While I can appreciate that this place must have been an old motel, taken over by Best Western, I at least thought that a brand as large and reputable as Best Western would have make the effort to bring this place up to their own standards. Major complaints: 1. Internet did not work at all while I was there 2. Smokey smell in halls and rooms 3. Weak shower pressure 4. A bit noisy 5. Ironing board broken

The lobby gives a great first impression of this hotel. With a glass fronted and sided space, it appears open and inviting. The decor is tasteful and attractive as well.(very clean and well maintained)
Staff were most welcoming. We arrived at 10 to 10 for the Sunday morning breakfast (and were two of a handful of people in the area). Breakfast was to finish at 10, but staff were still re-stocking the food choices. For a continental breakfast, there was a good variety, muffins, yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee, bread for toasting, cereals, hard boiled eggs.

The room was very up to date in decor and had a small bar fridge. Exceptionally clean.
My only eye sore consideration was the hair dryer in the bathroom. It was dated and yellowed but still worked like a charm and did the trick.
The shower head was amazing!!! I need one of these at my house.

We didn't visit the fitness center so I have no feedback on this.

Hotel is very centrally located and close to many amenities.

The room we got was a nice size and very clean. The staff was very pleasant and the decor was pleasing. The only criticism I have is of their free WiFi. It was slow and at times would lose connection. Would be nice if they offered free hot breakfast. They have a nice looking restaurant but was not open the entire time we were there.

This place is one of the better hotels in Simcoe, and the only thing that I wish it had were more hotels like this one. The service, rooms, cleanliness, and dining are all great, and the boardroom and other assistances for business travellers is essential if you are meeting your clients or customers here. Very kind staff and they deserve a perfect rating.

Room Tip: Good rooms, always check to see if anybody broke the shower head first.

My wife and I stayed overnight at this hotel on October 19, 2013. We were there with several other people for a wedding reception at a nearby Legion Hall. Check-in was fast and efficient although the desk clerk really didn't say too much, i.e. was not overly friendly. The room itself was spacious and clean, but I found several black hairs on the bathroom floor and in the bathtub. It would also have been nice to have a microwave in the room. Checkout was a breeze because we had already paid by credit card and the receipt had been slipped under our door during the night. We ate breakfast at the onsite restaurant. Prices were not bad, the helpings were generous, and the wait staff was friendly.

We found the rooms clean and comfortable we would have liked a microwave. The restaurant was excellent and very clean. The staff was more then helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone. We would definitely stay here again.
