Hmmm, this was a puzzling experience. Smith's Falls itself is a rather dreary, unimpressive small town without much to see or do. Not recommended.
As for Elmcroft B&B, it is not a bad place by any means, and the house itself is a unique and historic property. However, I could never recommend somewhere that did not provide a lock or latch on the bedroom door! While the hosts themselves were fine and would never present a problem, the feeling of being in a room in a strange place, without a means by which to lock the door, is simply unsettling.
The room itself was quite nice: comfortable bed, large, and full of light but without an ensuite. The private bathroom was down the hall and within the common space of the property, so not particularly handy. The bathroom suite is very clean but dated and could do with renovating. Breakfast was simple and a bit uninspired: cereal, fruit and baked cinnamon buns. Ok but certainly not fantastic.
Hard to be too critical but I personally would not return. Put a lock on the door!
