“Lovely banquet facilities”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2011

Attended a great wedding at the hotel. The banquet facilities were very good as was the food and service.

The hotel is a bit of a hodgepodge. It seems that it was built in sections over the years. There are lots of long hallways and then short staircases. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in October. The rooms were a little dated, but comfortable. There was nothing special to write home about, but on the other hand, there were no big complaints. Average 3* hotel.

But the competition is not too hot. Best things first. Rushes restaurant in the evening has excellent food and professional service. Definitely better than some of the nearby restaurants. The location is also convenient, and plenty of free parking. The pool area also looks really nice, well, when the whirlpool isn't taped off.

The rooms are ok, a little dark unless you flip on all the lamps (why is there no single ceiling light for convenience?). The bed was comfy, and the flat screen tv is a good modern touch. Wifi reception seemed good, and thankfully free.

Breakfast is an interesting experience. First day I got a glass of juice with some obvious dirt on the rim. The toast is served in some funereal black clothe and is pre-buttered. You need to request ketchup, as it won't be offered. The individual servers are very polite, but there's a slightly chaotic feel to the breakfast service overall which contrasts with the professionalism of the dinner service.

You can save yourself a long walk each day, if you park at the rear.

Property is a little older with recent Renovations to lobby, pool and other areas. Friendly, helpful service. Rate was average to good for a business level stay in this area. Rushes Restaurant is worth a mention - menu is not extensive, and not particularly attractively priced, but the service was very good and the food quality was outstanding.

Stay here four times, 2007, 2008, 2009. It is a nicely located hotel and it's a 10 - 15 mins slow walk to Conestoga Mall. There are eateries all around Waterloo Inn as well. While this hotel is not a luxury hotel, I felt that is comfortable and a little lovely place to stay in. The rooms are clean and rather spacious. The staff are friendly as well.

Stayed two nights on business. Rooms are good. Free wifi. Poor breakfast which was not included in rate. If I stay here again, there is a Starbucks very close by which does breakfast better and cheaper...

Nothing spectcularly bad or good about this place. A little overpriced for what you get and you definitely don't want to eat on site as there are much better options in the area. Clean and comfortable. Overall I would stay again when visiting the area.
