It was the New Year Eve of 2007 when we stayed in the inn for one night. Check-in was done late night on the New Year Eve and I was asking the staff whether the room we stayed at provided good wifi signal, and clueless staff replied me saying she wasn't sure since she'd been working there for only 4 days, and obviously another staff was beside her and did not answer this question even though she over heard the conversation.

Booked a room with 2 queen beds but when entered the guestroom, obviously the beds were NOT queen size (I'd queen size bed at home and do not try to challenge me about the bed size), and the next day when check-out I spoke to the front desk asking if my room had 2 FULL bed instead of queens, and staff insisted all beds on the floor that I stayed had all been upgraded and some rooms even had king size bed.

Room was clean, okay not much bad thing happened except wifi signal was just 2 out of 5 bars. Bathroom was ok and towels needed to be replaced as they were used for many years from what I could tell. We did not try the breakfast included as it provided up to 9am and we packed and left about 11am on New Year Day.

“EXCELLENT CHOICE!! Great price, great service, great location!!”

After [--] letting us down considerably, we were scurrying to make last minute hotel reservations and came accross this little gem. It is a great deal cheaper than any of the hotels right in "the falls". Yes, granted it is a 20 minute drive from Niagara falls, but it also put us closer to the other attraction we wanted to see, the African Lion Safari! The front desk staff was above and beyond! Very friendly and helpful, willing to go the extra mile (or kilometer I suppose!), a yummy continental breakfast was ready for us every morning with a complimentary newspaper, an indoor pool and VERY AFFORDABLE room service was also perks of this hotel. The Monday night wing special is a great deal if like chicken wings!

A Zellers (Targetish store), Walmart, several restaurants, fast food chains (but the previous reviewer is correct, no Arbys, :-( ) and many little shops are all around such a nice little town. And everyone is very friendly, even at the mall, which coming from Erie, PA, is a nice surprise.

We found a little cozy Italian restaurant called the Rex Hotel on King Street. It is nothing at all to look at from the outside, but it has FANTASTIC FOOD at Good prices! It is comparable to the Olive Garden for taste, but not price! Our waitress was a real doll, so sweet!

“Nice, affordable place to stay.”

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at this Days Inn and it was a pleasant experience. First of all the price was right. The rooms were clean and the staff was always available and helpful. They offer a nice pool and a decent free continental breakfast. The only negatives we found were that the bed wasn't the most comfortable and the A/C wasn't as cold as it could have been but other than that this Days Inn was good. It was a good 15 minute drive to Niagara Falls, but if you don't mind the drive from Welland down Lundy's Lane into the Falls area, then this is the place for you. An affordable hotel, clean with a pool and a small ride to the Falls.

Any review that rates this hotel above a 1 is misleading. The hotel is a good 25 minutes from the falls. When we drove up to the hotel (which is in the middle of no where), there were enormous potholes in the parking lot and empty beer cans all over the place. The hotel entrance is dingy and very old. There are flies all over the place. I tried get past my first impression and so we checked in at 4:00PM on June 25, 2007. We took the elevator to our room on the 2nd floor and the hallway was dark and decrepit. This is a very antiquated establishment. The room was disgusting and my husband sat on the corner of the bed and discovered that it was broken. I couldn't put my 9-month old down for a second for fear of mold, dust, etc. getting on him. The bathroom was filthy with grit and grime throughout the tub and sink. We checked out at 4:15PM on June 25, 2007. One good thing was that the front desk staff and manager were very understanding and did not charge us for our 15 minute stay. We ended up staying at the Ramada Inn & Suites in Lundy Lane. The Ramada looked like the Ritz Carlton compared to the Days Inn. Please heed my advice and stay at a cleaner, more modern hotel closer to the falls.

“It was OK...”

Days Inn Welland

We stayed in August 2006. This was an OK motel. It has inside hallways, so it's a little better than a motel, but the rooms are just so-so. We had the "executive suite," which is a bit of a joke. It was an oversized room, with a mini-fridge behind a bar/counter, a table with chairs, and a queen sized bed. This room had not been updated and had a sad little view of the back parking lot where old furniture goes to die. We were there just one night, so it was fine, and close enough to Niagara Falls, but it would not have been a relaxing place to stay for several days. The staff we encountered were friendly and we had no problems. We ate at the attached restaurant (with a discount coupon from the hotel), and they had a decent selection of menu items. The staff there was also very nice. It was more expensive than the room itself was worth, but far cheaper than most places closer to the Falls.
