I've been to Portovino Brossard a few times, the place is nice, but, the food is nothing exceptional. It's just alright. However this weekend I went again and this time I was very disappointed not just with the food but with the service and the way that restaurant was managed. I was served by a young pretentious man named Philippe and ordered the tuna tartar (NOT TO ORDER!!!!) The tartar was not up to par at all for a $20 starter, you expect to eat something fresh and tasty, this tartar seemed as if it had been mixed with can tuna in order to reduce the cost. A fresh tartar is supposed to have been minced but this tartar was just stuck altogether and was pasty at the taste. (looked like cat food) So I had three bites and left it. When our fantastic waiter came to pick up the plates, he asked if there was a problem with my plate, so I told him the truth and said it wasn't very good. (We were a party of 8 and 2 of us had ordered the tartar and not eat it). He said he would tell his bosses about it, but when he came back told us that he couldn't do anything for us and that the his boss had told him that it was coming out of his pockets if we didn't pay. Now that's fantastic management (I actually call it borderline slavery)Why is the waiter responsible to pay for a plate if the restaurant owners are not willing to put money where it is required ......THE KITCHEN!!!!! Suggestion to owners invest in the kitchen (cooks) you will get a return on investment back. So we then asked to speak to his boss, because I didn't want this poor waiter who makes minimum wage to pay for my plate and then was told that his boss was gone but his boss had told him on the phone and then we were told that there was no one at the moment managing the restaurant and that the restaurant was basically going to close itself. Between all these foolish lines our pretentious waiter Philippe would send other really nice waiters to our table because he did not want to serve us anymore. Jimmy!!! get a hold of your staff they are giving your restaurant a very poor image. It is one thing to get a bad tartar, but the service after sale needs to supersede in order for the client to forget the bad tartar. Basically, I dont really care about the food, it happens, but I am dissapointed ...(pissed) at the way I was treated afterwards, that is why I am writing today. Hopefully, you will find a way to improve your service after sale.
