We pulled into Normandin based on its popularity - it was the only restaurant for miles that had a packed parking lot. Little did we realize were had picked the Quebec version of Dennys.
Normandin is clearly a popular choice - the line was almost out the door. The menu includes everything from pizza to hamburgers, to breakfast served 24/7. Many of the entrees are also available as frozen entrees, and the restaurant clearly had a busy take away area.
We were offered a seat in the bar section, which was bustling with patrons, and offered a menu in French (despite the fact that we were clearly English speaking, and having some difficulty with the language barrier). After looking through the menus for several minutes, a young waitress offered us English menus before resuming her duties in the large dining area.
While our food (crepes for him, a quiche breakfast for me) was fine, it's not anything to plan a special trip for. Normandin is likely an easy "go to" for locals, but visitors and tourists shouldn't go out of their way to experience diner fare.
