Drove around Canmore looking for a place to grab some lunches to go...didn't want a traditional fast food place and so glad we came upon Bella Crusta. Very small place so make sure you don't miss it! What caught our eye was the subtitle on the sign: What the Foccaccia!
Pizzas in the fridge cases looked delicious but we ended up getting sandwiches to take on a picnic. Chicken salad great, grilled cheese for the kids, vegetarian wonderful too! Sandwiches can be full-order or half-order...the full-orders were enough that we had leftovers for lunch the following day.
Foccaccia bread was super tasty for all of the sandwiches. It does take a few minutes to prepare though, so grab a seat outside and people-watch while the owner makes your sandwiches.

We wandered around Canmore just looking at shops and stopped in at this little pizzeria because we both love pizza.

The owner is a friendly, congenial man who was more than happy to explain the process of his hand made pizzas and just listening to him talk was enough to convince us how much he really loves what he does.

The pizza's are made on foccacia bread, you take them home to bake them at 375 for 15 minutes, and enjoy the crunchy and deliciously stretchy mozza cheese on top. We had the meat lovers pizza and there was tonnes of toppings. For $16.00 cash, I have tasted nothing better. And baking it at the resort hotel, we were able to enjoy a lovely glass of wine and the comfort of the couch.

The hours of operation are not long so go early in the day and they are not open on Sunday's.

No where to really sit and eat, so grab yours and find a scenic spot to devour it! Best chicken salad I've ever had! My spouse tried the "heartstopper". He's still alive and talking about going back! A sandwich that would travel well while skiing, although we ate ours right away. The cook at home pizzas looked tempting (and fully loaded!) but we did not try one.

Best sandwich ever had the chicken salad. To big to eat it all. The focaccia bread is to die for.
