“Bad first experience!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

We went to Canmore after our night away in Kananaskis. We decided on The Grizzly Paw for lunch since we had never been there before. We noticed the patio was pretty packed since it was a gorgeous day outside, so we opted for inside seating so we wouldn't have to wait.

We each ordered a beer, and once they came out, there was something gross stuck to my glass. It almost looked like a piece of hard egg. We let our server know, and she promptly brought out a new glass.

We ordered a pound of wings, the fish and chips and a salmon sandwich. The wings took 40 minutes to come to our table! The server apologized and told us the kitchen was backed up because of how busy the patio was, and offered to give us one of our beers for free. About two seconds after the wings came out, our entrees came out too. When we went to eat the wings, they were completely cold - not even lukewarm. The fries on both of our plates were the same - not even warm. However, the fish was hot. It was like we were just given really old fries and wings.

The price was a bit steep too - $19.95 for one piece of fish with fries? My boyfriend only ended up being able to eat his fish, and no fries.

We did get quite a discount on our bill because of all the problems, but only after we spoke directly with a manager, as he wouldn't let our server discount it before that.

“Great food at a decent price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

This is a great place for burgers and fries beyond the average. The prices are great and the options are varied for meats (ie. bison burgers) and a variety of locally brewed beers. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about - waitresses in tank tops and flip-flops with loud music playing. But it's good food for a good price.

“First visit but not our last!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013 via mobile

Stopped by for supper after hearing they had great beer and store made soda. It did not disappoint! Had the raspberry beaver tail beer and it was delicious. Kids enjoyed the soda and was very tasty. As other reviews stated it can be a little noisy but this is a pub like atmosphere, not a romantic restaurant! Got plenty of food to fill us up and service was good. Definitely a place you want to check out when you get to Canmore. NOTE: it is a popular place so don't plan on getting seated immediately!

“Pretty good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Had a long wait outside (no room inside to wait, very small entry space) for 1/2 hour to get in on a Friday night as the place was very very busy/ service was good although I never got the second drink I had ordered. Food was good and portions were large. I liked the atmosphere and the in house made sodas were yummy!
