“Relaxing Spring Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

This is our 3rd time at this resort. We spent 5 days with the kids at what feels like a home away from home. Much more comfy than a hotel room. Lots to do in the area, we went skiing, tubing at Norquay, shopping in Canmore and Banff and of course swimming outside in winter is always a treat. All around good times and memories.

The only thing I can complain about, is the stairwells needed to be cleaned.

Room Tip: Building 3 (Grizzly) is newer and has a great hot tub. We alway ask to stay in building 3 or the Gr...

Welcome back to The Lodges! Thank you for the great review, we always enjoy welcoming back return guests especially after three times staying.
The Lodges at Canmore is a great location for guests looking to enjoy all the wonders of our winter season. There’s always fun being had in winter either up at the ski hills, snow shoeing, or even going dog sledding. At front desk we do provide ski tickets for various ski hills in the Bow Valley which is quick and convenient for guests to go to the ski hills and not have to worry about lineups once they’re up there.
The shops in Canmore are a great way to have a down day, with majority of shops being located in central down town as well a few “hidden treasures” such as the ammonite factory located on Bow Meadows Crescent. Guests can peruse the shops, have a cup of coffee, or enjoy a great lunch at one of Canmore’s many restaurants.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family back to the Lodges at Canmore, see you soon!

Yours In Hospitality,
Tanya Whelan

This was the second stay in 2 years. This time a full 2 bedroom suite which has all the amenities and very spacious. Fireplace was not really "warm" but the furniture, kitchen appliances, washrooms, etc were modern and working well. Underground parking for 4 adults skiing in Banff was also very nice to have for both heated and a secure space. -- Only cons were that the room had no way to control the temperature, and it was too hot for night sleeping. The staff didn't seem to have regular sized wash/face cloths (but made up for that in providing a pile of small towels!). the outdoor hot tub had 50% of the jets not working. But these were the only downers. The room (and price) was just great!

Room Tip: Room 210. second floor was nice in the main lodge building.

Glad to see that you enjoyed a second stay at The Lodges at Canmore! Our two bedroom suites boast a spacious living room, full kitchens with all the amenities provided, two full bathrooms, & two separate bedrooms.
The convenience of underground parking is a pleasure for guests especially during the winter as vehicles can become quite chilly left outside overnight. The security of having access to our underground parking makes guests feel secure knowing that only guests and owners have access to this luxury.
Our suites have in floor heating provided which could be why the heat in your suite seemed uncontrollable. Our Guest Services Agents are always around to assist and are able to walk our guests through ideal temperature control.
We look forward to the opportunity to host you again for the 3rd time!

We were essentially looking for a "base" place to stay while exploring the surrounding areas. For the comparable , reasonable price we paid, we were very happy with the place as it met all our needs.
It was clean, functional, spacious ,quiet and most important, it was pet friendly. The decor was pleasing, leaning towards modern......... which is all relative.
We stayed 3 nights, being close to the trails was a big plus. A very positive experience, and we will definately return
It was very dissappointing that there were a few irresponsible pet owners who did not pick up their pet's poop......I noticed this ,not only at this facility but at other trails/walks we were on too??????....too bad!!! (no fault on the part of the staff, but a poor reflection on some pet owners)
Other than the above ,great stay at a great price.

Room Tip: if you have a pet, ask for a room close to the exit for early morning potty needs.

Thank you for such a wonderful review! The Lodges at Canmore is an amazing base for exploring all the wonders of the Bow Valley. We are so lucky to be surrounded with such beauty and have so many different activities that can be enjoyed by all, especially all the train systems that are minutes away! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed them. Never hesitate to ask our Guest Services Team for ideas and suggestions of their favorite trails, biking routes, we love where we live and work and love to share it with our guests. In the summer, the trail up to Lady Mac is absolutely amazing.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed our property and units and were able to bring along your pet. We are very proud of our affiliation with Pets Can Stay Canada and love welcoming our four legged guests in our resort. Canmore is an excellent desitination for literally the whole family! The trails and dog parks are spectacular! We are sorry to read that you were able to see the evidence of the dogs in and around the resort and town, we do provide doggy bags throughout the property but sadly it is true, not everyone uses them. Our team does do pickups throughout the day, however, there are times where minutes after we do our pickups more deposits are made.
Our suites are fully equipped so that it truly feels like your home away from home. With the full kitchens and spacious living and sleeping areas you can enjoy a quite meal in or sit and relax after enjoying one of the many great restaurants in Canmore. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future, don’t forget to ask about our exclusive repeat guest rates!

We came here for Thanksgiving long weekend last October. It's a bit of an old hotel, but we booked a room in the new lodge. It was a bit dirty, but overall it was good. The pools and hot tubs are great and perfect at night! It just adds a bit more magic in the beautiful mountain atmosphere. It's a bit far away from the town centre, but most people drive and have a car anyways. We've stayed in a few other hotels in Canmore before and have had mixed thoughts on them. Good hotel, would recommend.

Room Tip: Get a room in the new lodge.

Good Morning oilersfan95,
I am glad to see that you enjoyed your stay this past Thanksgiving. Our outdoor pool & hot tubs are a popular sight for guests and is especially a great experience at night time with the stars shining and being able to look into the clear night sky and see the mountains. While our location is not directly in downtown Canmore, everywhere is close and convenient without having the extra noise that you receive while staying downtown. I look forward to welcoming you back to the Lodges at Canmore in the future.

Left all the laundry, and the hand prints on the walls at home. Had a nice break from reality taking 3 kids with me! The 2 bedroom loft was clean! The kids loved to explore every cupboard and drawer! It was far better then a hotel room, but not much more expensive! We ate in every night, the full kitchen had everything we needed (minus the vitamix, which we brought)!

Dear BrienenS,

It’s great that you had a chance to enjoy a time away from reality and thank you for making us part of that. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this fantastic feedback and I’m glad that your kids enjoyed their stay and felt comfortable enough to look through the unit and feel at home. Canmore has many great restaurants but I know that there is nothing better than a home-cooked meal. Next time you’re in Canmore, we look forward to welcoming you back to Lodges at Canmore. Have a wonderful day

We stayed in the "Wolf" lodge. We had a 2 bedroom condo. Both were kingsize beds. I went with my sister-in-law and our 4 kids. We had plenty of room. The kitchen had everything we could need! Plates, cups, bowls, cutlery, wine glasses & opener, even a BBQ lighter to light the BBQ with on the deck. We could then load the dishwasher at the end of the day to help us out. The pool was very warm & the kids swam their little hearts out. We did some touring around Canmore and Banff. It was an excellent trip & I would recommend this location to anyone.

Good Morning Rizzy4,

It’s fantastic that you enjoyed touring around Canmore and Banff with all that both towns have to offer.

I am glad to see that you had such a great stay in our Wolf Lodge! The spaciousness of our two bedroom condos, the convenience of having a full kitchen with all the amenities at home especially a dishwasher during your stay is always a nice added touch for guests.

Our outdoor pool and hot tubs are always a popular area it’s especially nice to have the option of swimming in the winter out door’s and still have a great time.

I look forward to welcoming you back to The Lodges at Canmore in the near future.

Sincerely,

Location and rooms were nice, really enjoyed the kitchen as it saved us lots of money on food. Hot tubs in each wing was a big plus and the bed was extremely comfortable. Atmosphere was great, family oriented, everyone young and old were friendly to a young couple like us. Also there was very little outside noise coming into our room so our sleep wasn't interrupted.

The only negatives about the stay was the fact we had a half filled coffee pot upon arrival and the staff was not really on the ball. Took us three walks to the front desk to finally get fresh towels and they were supposed to bring us a working kettle but never did.

This being said I'd have to rate it a 4 out of 5.

Good Morning spennyrico,
I am glad to see that you enjoyed the Lodges at Canmore location, the convenience of having a full kitchen in suite, our hot tubs, our comfortable beds, and the great family oriented atmosphere.
Thank you for notifying that you did not receive prompt service from our front desk, we try to have items brought up to suites as soon as possible and I will be speaking to our front desk team so that in the future this does not happen again.
I look forward to welcoming you back to The Lodges at Canmore in the near future.
