“Tiny rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Booked a standard, cheapest room through Booking.com and ended up being very disappointed.
Room was tiny, I mean TINY, 1 queen bed, a couple night stands, and a little desk squeezed in the corner of the room. Flat screen tv hung on the wasll, as no space for a regular tv stand. If we had a bag/ suitcase with us, it wouldn't make it into the room.
Washroom was a fair size, but BLACK LONG HAIR all over the shower walls... Didn't shower that day as it was already past 11pm when we noticed and were leaving for home early next day. We probably just didn't care too much at that point.
Keurig coffee maker was a nice addition BUT there was 1 regular coffe and 1 decaf one. If there's 2 people staying and 1 coffee makes just 1 cup, is the other person supposed to drink decaf???
The room was kind of in the corner, overlooking other rooms which means no view at all.
Complimentary breakfast pretty basic, cereal, muffins, bread to be toasted, cream cheese, peanut butter and jelly. They do have a regular menu available, need to pay extra though. And noone was there when we came in, so noone told us we can order something more; we just overheard the lady telling next people coming in.
Overall, not a great stay but I guess we could have booked a bigger room and it would probably be better.

Room Tip: Dont book standard rooms through booking.com; they're not even listed on hotels own website; go...

The Windtower is new and quite nice. The regular rooms are a small but modern and well decorated. The beds are excellent. The wifi is also first class as each room as its own router. Like most places in the area, no A/C. Breakfast was average.

A friend and I were supposed to go camping but the weather was terrible. We decided last minute to rent a room instread. Found a good deal for this hotel and ended up happy about it. The room was small but that was not our plan to spend too much time in it so we didn't care. The service was great and the fact that we got the hot tub for ourselves much of the afternoon is a big plus. The room came with a hot breakfast buffet... that's also a good thing but the service at the restaurant was lacking. Also there was not enough hot food for everybody they ended up having not enough of bacon and hashbrowns so if you want a good breakfast go early i guess.

We were very disappointed with the room and the service. The room was extremely small. You don't want to stay in that room if you had any luggage. Unfortunately, I had my golf clubs. The bed was uncomfortable, the fan was loud (no air conditioning) and the coffee maker didn't work. To add to the experience, the best comment about the Front Desk personnel was that they were confused.

We stayed for a company conference for 3 nights at the end of May, 2013. The conference facilities were very good and well set up. Breakfast was very good but didn't vary over the 3 mornings. Staff were friendly. Our room as noted by RK was very small. It is frustrating to have only one chair in a room for 2. It was a good thing that we brought only one suitcase as there was barely enough room for it. Linens were excellent. Room was very clean. We couldn't sleep because of the lack of air circulation. There was no air conditioning and the window was open. We had to keep renewing our key entry as it expired each day. Underground parking was very good. I agree that this would be a good spot to stay during the winter when you would be out skiing for most of the day. We'd ask for an upgrade immediately.

Rooms are great, interior of the halls and lobby was a little outdated, but the rooms had nice ceiling fans, updated bathrooms, awesome linens, memory foam mattress topper and a wifi router in each room (we weren't charged extra for Internet either). Only complaint was the lack of thin privacy curtains. It's either blackout dark or completely open. A little awkward on the ground floor level, but should be an easy fix.

We just recently stayed at the Windtower Lodge & Suites in Canmore Alberta. We arrived days before the terrible flood! The area is just magnificent!! The majestic 3 Sisters (mountains) are the view from the hotel! The staff were so accomodating & super friendly! The complimentary breakfast was awesome! Everything you could want. The room was on the small side but no complaints from us as was very comfy!! The resturant in the hotel was extremely reasonable considering it is a resort town! The food was very good & they accommodated for the fact we had our niece, husband & 2 little children for dinner so they went out of their way to make a kiddies menue which you don't get that often.

Would go back there in a heart beat!!!

Room Tip: all rooms are very nice. They also have condos for rent. Only a 3 story hotel & windows face th...
