“Noisy, but nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

It's a perfectly nice hotel, clean, friendly, really good continental (free!) breakfast, but it was a bit noisy. The doors to the rooms really slam shut and there are railway tracks on one side of the hotel. If you're a light sleeper, or have a baby, be sure to request a room that doesn't face the tracks.

Thank you for your review and your kind words about our property. As always at reservation time you have the option between the train and quiet sides of the hotel. We invite you to opt for the quiet side during next stay.
Sincerely,

This is a great little place for a short stay. The rooms were clean, staff was friendly, the hotel is located within walking distance of lots of restaurants, and we enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was great, much more than expected from a value hot, and there was coffee set up throughout the day. The only complaint was the passing trains throughout the night, which is out of the hotel's control.

An excellent location for a ski holiday in Sunshine.plenty of places to eat in the area. Rooms are in need of refurbishment but clean and comfortable. Fridge and microwave in the room we stayed in. No noise from trains if you sleep on the road side of the hotel. Very good breakfast constantly being replenished, hot food as well as plenty of comfort food, waffles, bagles, pancakes, muffins. Very good staff. A very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Excellent value! This was our first hotel stay with our dog and they were very accomodating considering we booked very last minute on the day before new year's eve. Hotel was nice and clean, and quite sound proof, we didn't hear neighbors or trains and we had a group of young guys right next door. My few complaints would be that housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:30 am. They asked if we needed anything but we hadn't even got out of bed yet so we didn't. I guess they considered that was it for the day because our room never did get serviced which left us short on glasses and towels. We did ask for supplies and they gladly restocked our room that evening. They were fully booked so i suppose they were busy and being new year's i'm sure the staff just wanted to get away as early as they could, I don't blame them! My other let down was that they had no bottled water in the vending machines, so make sure to bring your own. Other than that it was a great stay at a great price and the continental breakfast was good, pool great and staff friendly. Canmore is a great place to visit.

Thank you for taking your time to give such a well rounded review of our property. We are pleased we were able to accommodate your family on such short notice and during a very busy time of the year. Thanks for stopping in. A reminder to the housekeepers will be given so that they don’t knock on “stayover” rooms so early in the morning and that “no thank you” does not mean “no service.” We are pleased we were able to quickly supply you with the amenities you required when asked. Bottled water is available in the gift shop during the morning and evening, and available 24 hours a day in one of the vending machines. If you ever during your next stay have a question or are seeking some type of service, please do not hesitate to ask it will be our pleasure to assist you.

the hotel was great except one thing...a train going by every 30 minutes. Seemed to keep me awake, however it is not the only hotel near the train track. Breakfast, which was included in our stay was very good, hot and excellent selection of items. Staff was friendly.

Room Tip: For $25 you can stay on the other side of the hotel, away from the train track

Thank you for taking your valuable time to review your stay with us. We are thrilled that we were able to accommodate you on such short notice however we do apologize that we were able to offer you a room on the quiet side of the hotel having it been so busy. We invite you to stay with us again and to please opt for a room on the quiet side for your improved comfort. As always when you return, you can expect the same great service and wonderful free hot continental breakfast to start your day here in the beautiful Canadian Rockies.

Warm regards,

Our stay at the Ramada was not a pleasant one. The room we got for 149.99 was tiny, with 2 double beds. This is not comfortable for a family of 4. We stayed here for a ski trip and looked forward to the hot tub....it was not hot, Luke warm. The pool had so much chlorine, our kids couldn't stand being in there without coughing. We travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels. We would not stay here again.
