Spent a weekend in Canmore & stayed at the Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge (Jan 2013). This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. On this occasion, there were 2 couples in our party. We had a one bedroom apartment. There was a bedroom, bathroom & then a living area with a kitchen, sofa/pull out bed. Both the bed in the bedroom & the pull out futon bed were comfortable. Kitchen was equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, plates etc. The room was clean. The fireplace in the living area was a nice touch.

Location is good - about a 10 minute walk to downtown shopping, bars, pubs & restaurants. Boston Pizza is directly opposite the hotel. If you are looking for breakfast, just a 3 min walk away is Chez Francois Restaurant (beside the Econolodge)

The hotel has a large hot tub & sauna room. They offer free wifi (codes required for each device, but they gave us as many codes as we needed). You can park right outside your room as it's motel style buildings. Vehicle plug in's available for wintertime.

I would have preferred it if there had been a safe in the room. Value for money was good. Staff were friendly. Overall it was a good place to stay.

Clean, lodge fully equipped for self-catering. If you want up to date then this lodge won't be for you as it is a little tired, however, if you are looking for value for money this is it. We could park directly outside the door & each space has a power point to plug your car in. The cleaners did our room every day (even Xmas day).
It could do with more storage, and although our lodge said it could sleep 4, that would have been too many people as there is nowhere for anyone else to store luggage etc.
it is in a good location just 7 min walk into town. Great hairdresser/spa opposite (had a superb massage).
Internet, on the whole, pretty fast, Xmas day very slow.
When there was a family on the top floor you can here all their footsteps and when they use the bathroom!
Sauna & hot tub situated in a corner room, you have to walk outside to it but it is literally across the road (1 min). Cleaned every week and whilst we were there we had it to ourselves every day. Lots of clean towels to use and a shower.
We stayed for 9 days. Should have been 17 but decided to cut short due to weather. It was very easy to cancel and got an immediate refund.

Have stayed here many times with our 2 dogs .
One review states rooms are dated but that is a bit misleading as the owners have undertaken updating in many of the rooms in late 2011 and 2012 .
During our last stay in October a drunken group had booked several rooms in the motel and were warned by management to be quiet , weren't quiet and after one more warning by a private security company one of the group was taken to jail by local police for disorderly conduct .
We ended up getting one free night's stay on our next visit for the inconvenience of putting up with the yahoos whose names were taken and they are forbidden from renting rooms there from now on .
That's what I call good customer service .
Onsite staff are very friendly and helpful .
That's one of many reasons we've kept coming back to Rocky Mountain over the years .

they do not serve breakfast but that's no worry.craigs diner is just west of the motel.great eats.
