“'Great relaxing stay'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Stoneridge in Canmore. We spent 7 nights there in July. We had a great mountain view suite with a full kitchen which was perfect for our stay. Although there wasn't much to do at the resort itself, it was a great place to call home while we toured Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise and more. We bought groceries the day we got there and were able to cook every night and have our meals at the breakfast bar or the dining room table which was great. After the wedding, we were very tired, so it was great to be able to get movies for free and have a spacious living room and bedroom to just put our feet up and relax for a few days. The mountain view from the balcony was amazing and it was so nice to have our morning coffee out there. The complimentary BBQ was also a nice treat. We visited the on site cafe for breakfast the first morning we were there before we bought groceries, and it was delicious, but we found it very expensive so we chose to buy breakfast food to make ourselves for the week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice, but we found that it wasn't very private and would have liked a more secluded and quiet place to hangout. Overall, great room and good resort, but if we didn't have lots of day trips planned it would have been a bit boring.

Room Tip: We had a mountain view from our secluded balcony which was great, as all the other rooms face the po...

Dear Paul G,

Relaxing is what it is all about, isn't it? Especially when you are on your honeymoon! Congratulations again to you both!

Wow, the way you describe your experience it's as if you have been living here the whole time! We are very happy to be able to offer our guests as much freedom as possible while staying with us. Cuddling up together on the living room sofa and enjoying a nice, complimentary in suite movie is just perfect isn't it?

Thank your for mentioning our hard working staff too as we are very busy these days indeed, but not so busy that we forget about making our guests' stays as memorable as possible!

We wish you both much happiness together and hope we can see you back for an anniversary trip or two in the future!

My fiance and I stayed at Stoneridge for 2 nights in mid July. The room was fantastic, lots of space and was incredibly clean. We especially loved having a full kitchen and ended up cooking dinner one night! The location is perfect with at least two grocery stores and some great restaurants no more then 10 minutes away. We'll definitely stay there again the next time we're in Canmore!

Dear Kayrae K,

Congratulations to you and your fiance on your engagement! Our guest suites are just like your very own home for two in the mountains and we are glad you could truly test that out by having dinner in one night. Isn't nice not to have a nice dinner for two in your own room?

We are so glad you have decided to come back...maybe on your honeymoon! We wish you both all the best and much happiness for the future!

Sincerely,

We spent two nights at Stoneridge in Canmore. We were a group of three adults. On arrival, we got free upgrade to a two-bed room apartment which was big, modern and fully equipped. Also the apartment we stayed faces the pool, so there was no noise from traffic nearby at all.

It would be great for families in summer and ski season. It is a nice place to stay in Canmore. However, it is Canmore, so this is outside Banff National Park, which need to be taken into consideration. Great value for money.

Dear Jia H,

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay so much and we were able to provide you a room category to make it all the better!

Indeed we are great for both summer and winter and we think you would be hard pressed to find the same kind of value in Banff National Park. Many people choose us in the fall and winter because of our heated underground parking, in suite gas fireplaces and the heaps of space our guest suites offer.

The Canadian Rockies have an uncanny way of leaving you wanting more mountain adventures long after you have returned to life back home and we sincerely hope you can come again in the near future.

Sincerely,
John Brownlee

This was our first stay at this location and we were very impressed for the most part. The rooms/suites/condos are very plush and well finished, maintained and clean with that wow factor you would expect by the reviews on the hotel website. The views of the surrounding mountains are very captivating and relaxing, however the hotel does face the trans-Canada highway so there is a bit of road noise while sitting outside on the patio. Granted we were there in plus 30 degree temps, the air conditioner did not quite keep up in the room, so that was the biggest negative of the hotel. We would strongly recommend checking this property out and enjoying a relaxing time in Canmore.

Room Tip: Spend the extra $20 per nite to get a mountain veiw, otherwise you will be looking at the pool and p...

Dear Samuel E,

Thank you for taking the time to share your guest experience with other travelers here on our Trip Advisor page. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and that we earned a strong recommend from you!

We just wanted to clarify that we do not face the Trans Canada, but Bow Valley Trail and we are sure the the view from your guest suite patio would more than make up for the bit of road noise from all the visitors coming to see our beautiful town! As you are not too far away from us in Peace River, we hope you can come and visit us again. On the next time around please be sure to let us know if anything is not right in the room like your air conditioning, and we promise we will pull out all the stops to get it remedied.

Sincerely,

This is my 4th time staying at the Stoneridge Resort in Canmore, and I can't wait for the next one! Our family loves the location that is a bit away from the crowded streets, but close enough to downtown that our 5 year old can walk to the candy store :) Customer service is always fantastic at this resort! This trip, Charlene and Matthew at the front desk went above and beyond to help us with a forgotten (at home) gift certificate. Our room was spotless, beds comfortable and pool area spacious. I wouldn't stay anywhere else while in Canmore.

Dear TBeck,

Thank you for choosing the Stoneridge Mountain Resort time and again and we look forward to having your family back for another visit too!

We will occasionally hear that the walk to downtown is too far, but it seems you have located the best motivator of all: the Candy Shop! They have candies from all over the world there and we can see why your son loves it! Also there is a lovely walking path that runs along Spring Creek toward the downtown core that is a nice and quiet alternative to the one along the main road.

It is especially great when we see team members' names up here in lights on our Trip Advisor page. I will be sure to recognize Mat and Charlene personally for the excellent assistance they provided you, but we also had a really great guest to work with too! We can't wait to have you all back soon!

Sincerely,

We have just returned from Stoneridge Mountain Resort travelling with 2 teenagers. We booked a 2 bedroom suite and the facilities were excellent. The suites are modern, well equipped and beautifully maintained as well as super clean. Canmore town centre is close by by car and the view of the mountains from our window was spectacular. The air conditioning was very welcome as it was 27degrees C and this made our stay very comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and housekeeping happy to help if you need anything. No breakfast is included but there are 2 large grocery shops in Canmore to stock up on food or you can use the cafe on the ground floor. I would love to return some day - even with the kids. A gem in the mountains. Highly reccomended by fussy travellers.

Room Tip: The mountain rooms have great view

Dear Rhona2b,

We are so happy you made the trip to the Canadian Rockies all the way from Belfast and that you enjoyed your stay so much. Our two bedroom and three bedroom suites are ideal for families like yourselves and we are sure you had no issues with privacy or space.

Our climate controlled suites certainly make all the difference in the world when it is warm outside, but the nice thing about a hot day in the Rockies is that it is so dry that it is still perfect for hiking and leisure sports like tennis, or kicking a soccer ball around at a local park. Our team is very happy you recognized them for their hard work and engaging service too!

Thank you so much for staying with us and for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your guest experience here on Trip Advisor.

Sincerely,

Rented this through Leavetown, and wee very pleased with the recommendation. The development is fairly new, so everything's modern, working and clean. Well located, takes about 20 minutes to walk to down town restaurants ( scenic so seems shorter) . Kitchen is well appointed, couch clean and comfortable as are the beds. TVs and cable system very good. Lovely large patio. You pay more, but it's worth it.

Room Tip: If you're concerned about noise, ask to face away from the pool. If kids playing, the odd inebri...

Dear grumpyvern,

Might we say that you don't sound grumpy at all and we are very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us!

Indeed we are only a four year old property (2010) so we can safely say we have all the modern creature comforts you could want and very similar in a myriad of ways to what you have at home. We want our guests to be as comfortable as possible during their stays with us and to be their mountain "home away from home".

We hope, despite the distance, that the Canadian Rockies and our resort left an indelible impression with you and that you will one day return for another visit.

Sincerely,
