“Hearty Authentic Food From Quebec”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

This out-of-the-way diner in Canmore serves up large portions of unpretentious hearty food to hungry travelers off Highway No.1. My daughter and I struggled to finish our massive smoke meat poutine laden with curds and smothered with gravy - but we managed. The smoke meat sub that my husband ordered was absolutely delicious. My son washed his poutine down with a can of biere d'epinette (spruce beer) from Quebec - something I have never heard of !
The bright seating area is decorated with hockey memorabilia and simple pine furniture.
We definitely will be back on our next road trip to Alberta!

“Great Sandwiches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Burgers, smoked meat which was like a smoked ham, really good, and Poutine which I had never even heard of till a few days ago, incredible. Just a simple no frills restaurant, order at the counter and prepare yourself for great food.

“smoked meat in the Rockies!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

This place brings together two of my favorite things: smoked meat and mountains! The smoked meat sandwich here is delicious and huge. It rivals what you'd get in Montreal or Toronto and the price is fairly cheap. And the decor is great, if you're a Canadiens fan! We plan to come back often for the smoked meat!

“Poutine Poutine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

If you are from out east, then finding a poutine joint out west is amazing! So, of course I had to try it out, and what better time then after a rainy wet cold day hiking Lady MacDonald. Basically, any pipin hot meal after a cold wet hike would taste great. I was impressed by the selection of poutine and the fries were great. Unfortunately, the two times I have eaten there, the gravy was not hot enough to start melting the cheese curds. Maybe something they could improve on.

“Nice lunch!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013 via mobile

In Canmore for the weekend and since the reviews were so positive, decided to eat here. We had a hard time finding the place, but eventually did.
We had a small regular poutine, Montreal smoked meat sandwich and a mushroom burger. The portions were very generous and the food was excellent. It was a nice place to have lunch and all the staff and diners seemed happy and relaxed.
We were very happy with our dining experience and would definitely eat here again.
