“Japanese fusion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2011

We dined here on a Saturday evening in early December, the local 'off'' season so the restaurant was only moderately busy. The menu offers the choice of tapas style or a la carte choices. Two of us chose tapas to share and 2 opted for mains. The tables are somewhat small to accommodate both styles of dining although they would be fine if everyone was consistent. Food varied from raves to adequate - the sable fish entree was outstanding while the tapas calamari batter was under seasoned and dry. Presentation & plating is very attractive. They make their own ice cream, so don't skip dessert.
Service was pleasant and efficient, and everyone including the kitchen staff thanked us for coming in. All in all a decent restaurant with interesting menu choices.

“Modern”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2011

It has the unique funky dining experience you expect from Vancouver with fresh flavors and good cocktails.
The service is very good and the outside dining is really neat, a big table with fire in the middle.

“We go to the Wild Orchid almost weekly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2011

I'm reluctant to write this because I am worried that this restaurant might actually get noticed as the amazing spot that it is, and I may have to start making reservations. We go to this restaurant almost weekly. The sushi isn't your traditional sushi, but a contemporary spin on the old school, with some really funky flavors. Every time we go, we load up on crunchy salmon rolls which are AMAZING. With a tiny hint of garlic and crunchy texture, they melt in your mouth. On the tapas side, the calamari and the scallops are not to be missed. Finally, with the opportunity to roast a marshmallow over their beautiful outdoor gas fire pit, this is a fabulous little spot, well worth the visit.

“Great food but horrible service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2011 via mobile

Restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the food is good but horrible horrible service. A small group of us went on oct 17 during the evening and ended up being three hours due to our server messing up EVERYONES bills. Only go here if you have A LOT of time I have heard there is one very good server but I don't think ours had ever worked in a sushi restaurant.
