“Great choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014 via mobile

My family stayed here in early summer and loved the suite we had. It was a good find for the price - nice finishings (granite, gas fireplace, good sheets, nice showers/deep tubs and comfy beds). My only dissapointment was with the bbq set up (they are all in a row down next to the pool rather than in our patios). This seems small but who doesnt want to bbq in the summer and there were no bbq tools supplied so it was a bit weird. I was shown a servery that was dirty and had to was my own bbq tongs that I found in a pile of other dirty ones! The front desk staff didnt even blink as I asked for a clean cloth to wash their dishes with. I hink if you are a suite hotel attempting a high standard you should follow through to every detail but they dropped the ball there. I still rated this place highly because the room an service otherwise was great. One final thing: The views of the mountains are lovely - but the noise of the highway next to the hotel meant we kept the doors closed.

Magoomom, Thank you for the high rating that you provided in your review and for the description of the amenities inside the rooms. Our BBQ area is a common area which enables all of our guests to share tips on recipes, grilling techniques as well as mixology lessons. I have spoken with our team on the appearance of the servery during the time of your stay and I will monitor this personally to ensure that our high standards are kept in every corner of the resort. Thank you, Andrew S.

Our stay at the Blackstone Mountain Lodge was beyond wonderful in every way. Much to our surprise and delight, the staff upgraded our room to a two bedroom suite. The staff was very nice. Very clean, spacious and quiet rooms. We only stayed for one night, wishing we could have stayed longer. The view of the Canadian Rocky Mountains from our balcony was breathtaking. Even the cute little bunnies running in the yard kept us amused and entertained while unwinding on the balcony. Luxurious and beautiful getaway. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend

Dany t., "best room I ever had in my entire life", is a wonderful way of stating your experience to the other members of TripAdvisor. Our Two bedroom suites are quite popular as they have separate, private bedrooms and a beautiful kitchen, complete with granite, stainless appliances and all kitchen amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Please let us know when you will be coming out west again as we would be happy to have you stay with us again. Thank you, Andrew S.

We love to visit Canmore Alberta as often as we can. Blackstone Mountain Lodge has some good amenities for all travellers. Not all views are of the mountains, so ask when you register. The swimming pool and two hot tubs are nice after long days. The staff are very helpful at this hotel. The A/C was not great, but we didn't pursue this...but would if we stayed longer.

Room Tip: Request a mountain view... as they are spectacular.

My family has stayed at Blackstone for 1-2 weeks each year for the past 4 years. We are a family of 5 (kids aged 4, 6 & 8), and we stay in a one bedroom suite (1 king size bed) connected to a hotel room with 2 queen beds. The fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living area make it very comfortable. Our kids enjoy the pool and hot tub, and we use the gym as well. There are multiple BBQs and an outdoor eating area, and an area to keep bikes/skis. The staff are friendly and helpful, and housekeeping is timely and accommodating. Canmore is a great mountain town with extensive hiking paths, bike trails, fun playgrounds and good shopping, cafés and restaurants.

Room Tip: We've never stayed on the pool/highway side, but I assume it would be louder than the street sid...

PJMomof3., We are elated when Loyal guests such as yourselves take the time to post a review for all of the community to view. The rooms that you stayed in are absolutely fabulous for families, as the children have their own room (and TV) and the Adults have their own room as well, complete with kitchen, living space and fireplace. These units are available by request as they do adjoin, but are frequently sold out due to their popularity and functionality. We look forward to your next annual visit with us in the Rocky Mountains. Thank you, Andrew S.

We came out from Calgary for the weekend and we were very spoiled. We had let them know it was our anniversary and not only did they wish us well upon arrival. there was also a gift basket with local gifts waiting in our room. The kitchen is fully stocked, the 1 bedroom suite we had was very large, and the full washer and dryer proved to be useful after a muddy bike ride. They even give you free laundy soap. Very nice hotel. One issue with Canmore hotels in this area is that they often don't have enough parking spots but this parkade was huge and was never full, even though our hotel was fully booked. The parkade even has a car wash station! Great hotel!

Happy Anniversary and we wish you many more to come. The biking trails have been epic this year and as you know we have all skill levels covered in Canmore. Looking forward to your next visit with us. Thank you, Andrew S.

I have stayed here 4 times with my family, including 2 Christmas'. The customer services is outstanding! Some of the most helpful hotel staff that I have come across in my travels. Suite is lovely and feels like a home away from home, great views, kids loved the outdoor pool and front door bear! The Blackstone Mountain Lodge is always our first choice when we visit Canmore.
