“Great little spot, we will be back.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

Stayed one night in Blackstone. Very impressed with the over all experience. Building very clean, hotel staff friendly, the room was good and basic. Under ground heated parking. Weight room small, no pay per view movies, and my biggest beef, very poor WIFI service which seems to be a common problem in many Canmore hotels as we have stayed in several. No restaurant. However the price is extremely reasonable, 2-queen beds for $108.00 a night. There are many lodges on Kananaskis Way, but this one we would use again for the price/value alone. Should also mention your a stones throw away from one of the best gyms in Canmore.

Room Tip: Most rooms are a great location, pool shuts down at 10:00 so the noise isn't an issue.

Challenger01, I am honored that a Top Contributor with 151 reviews and counting has taken the time to report with such honesty and attention to detail, to their fellow Trip advisor colleagues. Wifi is a problem that we have experienced and we have just initiated a contract with a provider which will soon be putting us in the lead as one of the newest, fastest and most reliable systems in Canmore very shortly. On your next stay please look at our Elevation Package which lets you enjoy "one of the best gyms in Canmore". Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to your next visit. Thank you, Andrew S.

My husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing a one bedroom suite. It was so well set up I would like to experience it, and that view of Rundle for a week!! Yes, we too loved the underground heated clean parkade, beautiful decor, comfortable bed, and the beautiful stone room numbers.
I am not sure I can add anything fabulous that hasn't already been said. Well OK one thing hasn't been mentioned: beautiful soft towels await you. OK one more-it is so nice and quiet. We did not hear any noise from the hall or neighbors.
Next time we will take time to enjoy the pool and hot tub.
We would not hesitate to come back again and again, and bring friends!

Thanks for the great experience!

Room Tip: The one bedroom suite was perfect for the 2 of us

Stayed here with my curling team. Booked two hotel style rooms which were very comfortable. Staff was great. Took advantage of a sale price - great value. Indoor parking was a bonus with the snow. Would stay here again.

MantaTim, Thank you for your very positive review from a senior reviewer. It does mean a lot to all of us at the Blackstone when reviewers such as yourself take the time to share your positive comments. Our hotel rooms are usually a hit because you get the excellent value in a resort atmosphere, and are very popular with the skiing crowd as well when combined with a package. Please let us know when you will be curling or just visiting in the area, and we will be happy to have you stay once again. Thank you, Andrew S.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

We stayed at Blackstone for 4 nights in early January for a family get together. The location is great, a very short drive to town, or about a 10 minute walk. We booked a two bedroom suite and were quite pleased with the size and quality of the room. One of my only negative comments would be that the kitchen could use a few additional basic items. I'm not sure if each kitchen is stocked the same, but a few cheap items would have been useful like a cheese grater and measuring cups. A non-stick frypan would've also been nice, but maybe these get too damaged by guests.
We used the outdoor pool on a few occasions, it was nice, but could've been a few degrees warmer.
The lodge staff were friendly and prompt whenever we dealt with them.
Overall I think this was a great value, and if I come to visit Canmore again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Classvisuby, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with the trip advisor community in such a positive style. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the 4 nights that you stayed with us and that all of the staff were "friendly and prompt". I will most definitely share this with them. All of our suites are stocked with Basic amenities and we do have extra amenities available upon request through our guest services. On your next visit, please let us know and we will be sure to have your room stocked with extra items. I am glad you were able to make use of the Outdoor Pool and hopefully the two Outdoor hot tubs as well as it is a treat to be able to see the stars in the night sky against the backdrop of the mountains. Please let us know when your next trip to Canmore will be and we look forward to welcoming you again. Thank you, Andrew S.

Booked here after checking out a few places on trip advisor. Booked the suite, which featured a full kitchen, bedroom and living room. Close drive to the shopping district and Sobeys. Picked up foods for breakfast so we got to take advantage of the kitchen. Short drive to all the ski hills, and couldn't wait to get back to the room after a night of boarding. Staff was great, room was immaculate and we had a great mountain view. Pool looked nice too but never had time. Reminded me why I'll always stay in Canmore over banff. Less crowded and a great vibe. Will be back!

B_webster77, I will pass along your positive comments to the staff involved as we all take great pride in assuring the property is kept "Immaculate". We have many suites available and often our Mountain Views are the most popular, given how beautiful they are on both sides of the property. Canmore is a great choice over Banff and truly lets you relax and be a local for the evening. We just had over 30cm of fresh snow in the local skiing areas and the temperature is going to be plus this week so come back and enjoy the perfect conditions soon. Let us know when you are coming and we will add you to our preferred guest list as well. Thank you, Andrew S.

The hotel was average for the price. The suite wasn't as grande as pictured on there website and the shower was awful. The staff was friendly and helpful, however, I won't stay here again next time i'm in canmore.

Rob W, I can see that this is your first post on tripadvisor and thank you for commenting that our staff were friendly and Helpful. With regards to your suite not looking like the picture on the website, we have many different suites available, many with premium mountain views or larger living spaces, and various configurations. All of the pictures that we publish are taken from our property. With regards to the shower, please give me a phone call so that I can investigate this further. It saddens me that you will not be staying with us again, but if you do reconsider please contact me directly so that I can arrange your stay personally. Thank you, Andrew S.

We stayed three nights for New Years Eve and we had a fantastic time in this lodge. Spacious room, well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer in the room; staff was very helpful and friendly even in the busiest season (the lodge was full).

Only minor issue, our room was done at 4:30pm the first day and 6pm the second day (we turned this one down as we were having dinner). A bit off time to do housekeeping, but I understand, as I said, the lodge was full.

Will definitely come back when we need to stay in the mountains.

Tri_YYC, Happy New Year and thank you for staying with us during this very festive time. I am Glad to see that you "had a fantastic time" in our lodge. I thank you for your understanding and empathy into the issue of Housekeeping running slightly behind when the resort is Full, and would like to say it is usually not like us during normal times. It is refreshing when guests are as considerate as you have been in this situation. We really do value your business and hope that you return soon to our lodge so that you can visit Canmore once again. On your next visit please contact me directly so that I can arrange your room for you as a preferred Guest. Thank you, Andrew S.
