“The french fries....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

Look past the outdated décor. Seriously, who cares about aged décor when the food is classic and yummy! The place is clean, the owners and servers friendly, and Dot's is always filled with regulars.
Now, the fries. Once they're out, they're out. They cut their fries fresh every day, so if you're there a little late, you may be out of luck. I've been disappointed before. I've also been known to go just for fries and gravy. But I can attest to the deliciousness that is the Eggs Benny. Try the smoked salmon benny. *do I hear angels singing?* The salmon is moist and actually in chunks. It's not lox style. Heavenly! And the hollandaise is divine. Not too thick, or overly rich...it's the perfect complement and only enhances the flavours.
Dot's is a breakfast/lunch joint. Open until about 2 or 3. Closed Saturdays (and maybe Mondays?).
My favorite of Langley's classic, old-fashioned cafes.

“If price and quantity are your only criteria...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Had a lunch here. Had great hopes based on TA reviews. "Everything is made here", by owner. The 'home made' soup was actually made with large quantities of beef base so tasted very salty and artificial which is was. Toasted ham sand came toasted so toast warm but ham, not cooked on premises, so was packaged, cold and runny. I will try again. Everybody has a bad day.

“Breakfast with a pal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

A clean old style cafe/coffee shop. Service was a little slow. The barebones interior could use a spruce up. Old style kitchen type room doesn't have to mean out dated.

“Down home food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

Comfort food of every description, this old style Cafe is one of the last in the Lower Mainland. The portions are big but the prices do reflect this. Breakfast served all day.
