“Amazing Indian Buffet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

Once a month I travel from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay for work. I love these trips because it means I get to stop in Dryden for a meal at Masala. I get the buffet every time. I recommend it to anyone traveling in the area. Masala's has something for everyone. They do their own version of more "North-American" foods, like Lemon-Pepper Chicken, East-Indian Style Meatballs, and Pulled Pork. If you're a fan of Indian food, they do their own version of a lot of traditional Indian dishes. The chicken in their Butter Chicken is marinated before it's cooked in the sauce so the flavours are amazing. They also do really awesome lamb dishes. I've had their Lamb Jalfrezi one time. The Lamb Masala is my favourite, the meat is so tender and the spices are really tasty. I have coeliacs, so my waitress recommended Dhebra and Patra - They're both out of this world. This is a local, family-owned-and-operated business, if you have dietary restrictions or if you're unfamiliar with the food, your waiter/waitress will be really good help because they're well-acquainted with the menu. Huge thank you to the owners and their family for bringing some variety to the area! I know I can always count on Masala for a great dining experience.

About as far away from the indian sub-continent as you can possibly get, but authentic family run India cuisine in dryden ON. greek food too spanikopita and the like.
We've only been there for the lunch buffet, all you can eat paneer, korma, butter chicken tenders, lemon pepper chicken, spring rolls.
dynamite lime pickles and chutneys on the side.
and a Kingfisher beer.
Now you've been told. don't miss this!

“Great Indian Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

Travelling across northern Ontario, we were pleased to find tasty ethnic food in a relatively small town.

Staff were very friendly and generous. Our entire family really enjoyed the butter chicken found on the buffet. Food was hot and fresh. A pleasant dinner in a small town. We arrived in town late (7:20) and we were finished dinner by 7:45 pm.

“A Unexpected and Pleasant Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

Although we had not planned to stop in Dryden on a recent trip home from Winnipeg, a very pleasant surprise of this stop was a visit to Marsala Restaurant. Our various road trips across parts of Canada and the United States have taken us to numerous small communities and we can safely say that we have never been as pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and the variety of excellent choices, as we were at Marsala. The restaurant was recommended to us by the desk staff at The Holiday Inn Express who told us that the "Indian and Greek food was very popular" with many of the hotel guests, as well as many of the locals. The wonderful aroma of the Indian buffet when we entered, made it easy for us to choose - even though a buffet is seldom what either of us would choose. Our friendly waiter suggested that we take a look at the food and we were pleasantly surprised to see a variety of piping hot food, in small amounts that were frequently replaced - as opposed to huge amounts of food, left to gel and congeal, as is often the case at many buffets. The staff took the time to explain the buffet items and everything that we chose was delicious. Both of us had different favourites, but we especially enjoyed the butter chicken, the lemon and pepper chicken and the vegetarian dishes. The owner and his friendly and efficient staff are clearly proud of the product that they offer and they have every right to be. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is travelling through Northern Ontario.
