I'm almost afraid to give a good review in case the place becomes too busy, but they deserve it.
There are a few minor things that I'd like to see changed, like a slightly more extensive menu, and keeping it current online but otherwise I'm pretty happy about going there. My wife and I go at least once a mont on average, but probably closer to 15-18 times a year...it's our favourite local nicer but not outrageously expensive dinner place.
We usually get out of there for $120-$150 for both of us depending on appies and desert, and always with a fair priced bottle of wine. The food is consistently prepared and I've never had a complaint about how it was made, just once I didn't care for it...only because it wasn't my thing....I even debated ordering it but tried it out anyway. I should have known better. When I order things I like, I have always enjoyed them.
The service is good, and I love the ambience...a little on the loud side bringing energy to the room but not so loud that it interferes with your own conversations. I would recommend it to anyone because while the menu is small there is usually an option for at least 3 of beef, chicken, pork, pasta or seafood, and sometimes any of the above. That's a decent selection for most palettes, and since its neither bland or overly spiced, it's hard to go wrong.
Try the pork chop if they have it, it's like nothing I've ever had before...1.5 inches thick and if you close your eyes you'd think it was a slightly salty but moist and tender steak. And the key lime pie when it's in season is homemade by "mom" and it's delicious! All in all I'd give it a 4.5 out of five, and since I had to go one way or the other I'm giving them the extra half point because I've been enjoying this place for several years.
