“I thought being part of a hotel chain meant something.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2010

Front desk person was nice and helpful. The carpets in the hall to the elevator was very dirty. The carpet in the room had stains on it, (wasn't sure if it was safe to take my shoes off. The sheets did not fit on the matteress, the bed was lopsided and the pillows were small. The room also stank of something.

We are non smokers, and the management assured us that all rooms were non smoking, how ever our room stunk so bad we could hardly sleep, the room also look sort of run down and could seriourly use and upgrade of new furnitures.

Hotel is also located on very busy and noisy intersection and Canada 1 hwy so if you sleep well in noisy conditions this would be a good place.

We won't be back........ instead friends told us about theses two sites,

www.VRBO.com

and www.airbnb.com

and now were continuing our stay in a very lovely and quite private home not far from here at a cheaper rate. So my best advise is to check out these sites before booking your room in a stinky hotel.

We are terribly sorry if your room had any smell of cigarette smoke as our hotel has been smoke free for 2 years now. We would like to offer you a complimentary room on your next stay in the Coquitlam area. We are proud to announce our property is now a Best Western PLUS and we are confident that your next stay will be a pleasant one. Please feel free to contact the hotel for your certificate. Thank you!

I stayed at the best western from the Okanagan for a concert, so made a weekend of it. We got the family suite and were so happy with everything. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL ROOM.

Breakfast was included and it wasn't just a dinky "continental" breakfast...it actually made us full.

I would recommend this place to anyone that is travelling to the Coast for business or pleasure!

My friends and I stayed at the Chelsea Inn during the Olympics and were pleasantly surprised with our stay.

First of all the front desk clerk who checked us in was kind and courteous and went out of her way to make us feel at home. We had not traveled on public transit in Vancouver before and the close proximity of the Skytrain station and the great instructions by the hotel staff allowed us to move around Vancouver with ease.

The room was spacious, well appointed, and above all very clean. In the morning we took advantage of the free continental breakfast which was an excellent start to our day.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Had a quick overnight stay, but staff was very nice and hotel was very comfortable. No restaurant, but walking distance to lots of amenities.

This is a typical Lower Mainland hotel. It is older, well maintained and overpriced. Do not accept any room facing Brunette as the traffic noise is horrendous 24/7. Rooms at the back are quieter. We stayed for five nights and the electronic room key never really worked. We probably had 30 or more key cards over our stay and the lock didn't work very well. The problem now is that the cleaning staff see that you are having trouble and let you in without any question. I am not sure how they know if you belong in that room. We were robbed in another hotel last year and its not hard to see how this can happen.
Good but standard breakfast in a larger clean separate room. Overall cleanliness is ok but the rugs do seem to be vacuumed very often. The glasses aren't changed every day and we found lipstick on one of them. The hotel does have an outdoor pool which was out of service during our stay.
This hotel welcomes teams competing in local events. We had 10-12 year old boys lacrosse teams on the weekend. Fortunately, parents established corridor check points to stop corridor relay races and monitor traffic. It worked this timeand other similar groups should take note of this practice.
