We decided to spend the second half of our trip in Coquitlam as we are planning a move to Canada and wanted to check out the area. We wanted a hotel within easy reach of the Skytrain and public transport close to shops and residential areas. This hotel is 15-20 minutes walk from Lougheed Town Centre Skytrain and bus stations, and the Lougheed Mall.

The hotel itself is very smart with an atrium filled with plants around the pool and sauna. Our room was clean and functional and had clearly been recently refurbished.

There is free wi fi access in the rooms and there is also free internet access close to reception. Local calls from your room are complimentary, and the hotel also provides a free copy of the Vancouver Sun to your door each day.

The only drawback is that there are not a huge number of restaurants within walking distance, but we did eat at Rockwells in the hotel itself, the White Spot, and the Executive Plaza Hotel which is a short walk away is great for a special night out.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel as good for business/factfinding missions. The price per night was actually more than we paid for a downtown hotel the previous week, so it is not necessarily cheaper to stay here than downtown. But it is a great place from which to explore Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Port Coquitlam as well as the Fraser Valley.

  • Liked — Clealiness and free services such as phone and internet

I stayed here for four nights. I was sent to Coquitlam for work and decided to stay an extra night to make it into a small getaway. The first night I was alone and the second night my husband stayed for the rest of the stay.

We had a two bedroom suite, which was stocked with everything we needed. There was a grocery store next to the hotel so I was able to stock up the kitchen with everything I needed for breakfast, etc. The room was a typical Best Western 3 star, not luxury by any means but comfortable and very clean. The suite was huge and felt like a small apartment, which was nice!

I don't recommend taking anything from the snack bar in the room, everything that was in mine was out of date.

I had a rental car and there was always plenty of parking spaces. We decided to take the skytrain into downtown Vancouver, which was really easy from the hotel, only about a 5 minute walk. There's also a White Spot, Joey Tomatoes and Korean stores/restaurants within close walking distance and two restaurants on site. The restaurant I tried wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad either, and it was cheap.

The staff were all friendly and willing to help whenever I had questions. I went to the gym but everything seemed old and it felt like the heat was turned up in there so I never used it. The pool looked okay but was full of kids whenever I went past it so we didn't use that either.

The hotel itself seemed a little outdated but considering the price it wasn't bad value for the money and was in a good location if you need to be in Coquitlam.

  • Liked — The amenities in the room, location, free wireless high speed internet in rooms
  • Disliked — Walking through the entire hotel to get to the front desk

We have stayed here several times over the years as we have family in the area and have found this hotel to be consistent in it's service and room and hotel standards. It has a very nice ambience with the tropical theme and the kids have allways loved the pool.Good location, close to everything in the Coquitlam area.
Both Restaurants on site sre good.Very busy area, but inside the hotel is like a little oasis, not on a grand level but enjoyable just the same.

I stayed here for 2 nights in mid July. For weekday Gov't rate I paid $119 a night and it was well worth it. There are both motel style exit to the exterior or interior access rooms.

Ther rooms were renovated recently with comfy beds and good linnens. They suffer from the recent hotel phenomenon of thick plush pillows that are painful to sleep on.

Our room had a fridge and 27" TV. The showers had dispensers for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The seperate sink / vainty outside the bathroom was also handy.

There was an indoor heated pool that we didnt use, but looked ok.

There were several places to eat near by. I would stay here again without question.

I've selected this hotel for one night stop on the way from Alberta to Vancouver airport. All hotels around the airport were very pricey so I opted to stay 20 minutes away from YVR.
Arrived at this hotel afternoon and found out that I was upgraded to Roman Theme room. What a treet. My room was located on the second floor. When I entered my room I was speachless.
It turned out that I was given honeymoon suite :) My bed had pilars, mirrors on the sealing, very clean bathroom and jacuzzi:)
I am the type of person that would never go into jacuzzi or hot tub in a hotel, but this one was VERY clean. When I'm saying clean I mean clean.
I went across the street to the liquor store to pick up couple of beers, and then I enjoyed them in my jacuzzi watching TV and relaxing overall. In the evening I joined my coworkers in the hotel restaurant for dinner. Fabolous restaurant staff, great food and very nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed my dinner.
I had to print 20 pages document for next day. I went to the lobby and friendly receptionist told me to go ahead and print my document. My print job was free, they didn't charged me at all, which I thought that it was nice gesture. Before I went to bed, I jumped one more time to jacuzzi. Wake up call was on time, check out very speedy. Each year I spend around 70 to 80 nights in different hotels, and I can tell you that this room and hotel's staff hospitality is in my top 3. I recommend this hotel to business and leasure travelers.
