“Served its purpose”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Spent a night here while in town for business. Seemed more like a Best Western than a Best Western Plus, being rather dated, dark, and worn (but clean). The mattress was a bit crunchy, for lack of a better descriptor, and although the reservation said queen beds, they seemed smaller, possibly full size. Creaking noises from the person walking in the room above mine was a bit annoying, along with an occasional whistling noise from the mini-fridge. Despite 2 doors into hallways, and a third to the adjoining room, noise from out there wasn't a problem.

The location is convenient and the best thing going for this place. Staff were efficient.

I'd probably stay elsewhere if I were to return to the area, just to try something different, but I wouldn't rule this out either.

Overnight on business, this Best Western is decent but showing a little wear. Excellent staff on check-in and at the lounge/restaurant. Ground floor room felt a little lived-in, could have had a bit more attention to detail. Pool in the atrium made the whole facility feel a bit damp. No major complaints, just a little worn.

We stay at this hotel every time we go to Vancouver, which is about 3 times a year to visit with family and friends. Great price, clean, friendly staff, close to everything we need while there. They have a couple of restaurants on site which are really good. I always ask for a room on the ground floor with a door into the room to the parking lot. Beds are really comfortable, rooms are quite spacious. It's everything we need while there.

We stayed one night to attend a concert at the Red Robinson Theater which is only a short drive away. They upgraded us to a large room with a hot tub in the room. It was very nice and romantic. We also ate in the restaurant. It had good food and great service. The hotel has an attractive indoor courtyard with a pool and hot tube. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will stay here again when we come up for concerts.

My husband and I live in Coquitlam, but when our house flooded, the insurance company put us in the Coquitlam inn for about 8 days. We were treated like gold by everyone that we dealt with. The rooms that we stayed in were wonderful and we loved the pool and hot tub. Everyone was just wonderful to us, and it made a really stressful time in our lives that much easier.

Room Tip: The suites were huge with really nice kitchens. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant, but it is...

We stayed here May 25 overnight to attend a function nearby. The hotel is definitely the best choice in the Coquitlam/North Burnaby area and we would recommend it for its cleanliness, reception greeting, newness of its room amenities and location - close to Hwy 1, Lougheed Mall and Skytrain.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times. We find it very convenient when we have things to do in the Burnaby/New Westminster/PoCoMo area.

Although we don't travel with young children, this is a great hotel for you if you do as they have a nice indoor courtyard with a pool.

The rooms have always been clean and well kept. On our most recent trip, we were upgraded to their Roman Theme Room. Most of the features of this room were probably lost on us -- we just found that the columns used up too much space in the room.

Front desk staff and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful.

A couple of things that could be improved:
- The drapes in the room should be fixed so they they block out the light from the courtyard.
- It would be nice if they didn't disable the menu and input switches on the television. It is a wide screen TV without an HD receiver. The TV is set to stretch the picture (which is a pet peeve of mine) and since the menu is disabled, the guest can't change it. As well, in today's world, peple often bring programming with them on tablet and laptops. Since the input button was disabled, we could not watch our shows on the TV.

These are minor issues and shouldn't stop you from enjoying a stay at this hotel.
