“Good food, and all day breakfast menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

We went to another Browns Socialhouse location in Vancouver (closer to the Anthropology museum area). The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and they have a low carbs option for the healthy conscious like me. My partner ordered their breakfast menu, which was awesome.

“Great Food! Nice patio!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

This was the best steak sandwich I have had in years!! The meat was tender and the place has a real communal feel. Everyone was so friendly and the cesars were delicious! For a casual dinning experience with a great atmosphere check out Brown's and there is one in the downtown area as well!

“For the younger crowd”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2012

There is a dearth of eateries in Lynn Valley, so undoubtedly Browns (the 3rd restaurant to take this premises) would have a successful formula. Tried several times to get in, but always crowded. Finally succeeded. Very much a Cactus Club/Earls feel. Good atmosphere, but loud, loud, loud. The boom boom music prevailed, so an across table conversation was exhausting. Food quality was good, but prices are definitely $$$, not $$. $10-$14 for a glass of wine is up there. For a relaxed, casual dinner, if you can stand the noise, and the cost, it is fine. Otherwise, get in the car for quieter choices elsewhere. The BlackBear pub...not a 1000 yards away has similar comfort food, cheaper, and without the boom boom music.

“Invasion of the "casual chain restaurants" continues”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

I typically haven't been overly impressed with Brown's establishments over the years but a recent Saturday night family dinner was overall fairly good. Even though there is no printed kids menu - just ask your server, they do have some choices! The kitchen split a regular cheese burger for them and they liked it. I had the ahi tuna burger - very tasty, although I was expecting one solid piece of tuna - instead a got a couple icecube sized chunks, which isn't the easiest to eat in a bun with sauce / accompaniments. Wifes pad thai was good. Service was flawless - helpful and efficient. It is nice to see a restaurant in this space being succesful - after a few no-goes before. Good atmosphere, nice room.

“Good little spot. Solid back-up but likely not a 'destination' for most which is great for us locals!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

Great local spot. It's the first Brown's and you can tell as it's teeny indoors. However, food is consistently good. Service is either great or below average but it's a good little local. They have great specials; food and drink.
