Owner description: Just 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Grouse Mountain attracts locals and tourists alike. During the summer, guests enjoy hiking, Zip Line Adventures, paragliding, sightseeing, lumberjack shows and more. In winter, we have skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sleigh rides among many other activities. Grouse Mountain also features several different dining venues, from café style at Lupins to casual dining at Altitudes and fine dining as a guest at The Observatory. We also have a refuge for endangered wildlife.

“Spring time, nice, but a bit overpriced.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2008

We went in May 2008, on a whim, snow was already gone, but the tourism BC lady insisted there were plenty of activities in spring/summer.
Lumberjack show funny/amusing. Bird of prey show informative. Looked at the grizzly bears and wolves who slept and never moved. Nice views from the gondola. Would have been more fun if we had hiked up the grouse mountain then took gondola down. (didn't realize this was an option) Spent a leisurely 2 hours and there was nothing else. Parking fee $5.
Ticket fee ~$34 Thought it was overpriced for what it was.

“Too crowded”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2007

We went skiing there and found it to be way to crowded. 1 hour waits for lifts and long lines prevented us from enjoying ourselves. The gondola is spectacular but don't go during the Xmas Week unless you get there real early. The snow is wet and it gets foggy on the slopes.

Less money than Whislter ($47 vs. *$83) and a short drive from Vancouver (15 minutes)

“Beautiful views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2007

A wonderful cable car to the top of the mountain giving great views of vancouver and the surrounding areas.

We saw the grizzly bears which are lovely and there are some walks aroudn the mountain. You can also walk across to some other peaks if you have 4 hours + to spend. We walked part of the way and the views are really worth the walk.

We would recommend the bar for a bite to eat, well presented food and resaonably priced.

The sun set is really worth seeing as it iluminates the vancouver area great for photos.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2007

Me and Jamie went to this place but didnt dress for the occassion so we ended up freezing and falling ove reachother as we rented some snow shoes and didnt know how to snow shoe exactly but it was an awesome time. Great restaraunts that keep you warm, good skiing, and the Tram car takes you up 3500+ feet you can see alot of canada....

“Very Fun, but watch out for car thieves.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2007

Grouse Mountain is a enjoyable family outing. The fun parts of the outing are:
* Gondola ride to the top
* LumberJack show
* Bird show (...hawks)
* Watching the bears thru the fence

You will be there for at least a couple hours.
Overall, it is a nice tourist attraction.

BEWARE: Crime is bad in the area. Car breakins are notorious in the parking lots. Theives are somehow bypassing your car security system (especially rentals) and stealing laptops and GPS devices. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR BECAUSE IT WILL BE STOLEN. There are spotters hidden in the parking lot that watch you and wait for you to leave up to the Gondola and than they break in your car.
