“Make a reservation to have the skyride admission included”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2010

If you are planning to have dinner on Grouse Mountain, make a reservation for the Observatory restaurant and the skyride admission is included. The entrees at the restaurant are $40 a plate so it 'pays' for itself.

It's too bad that so many people have bad review about the skyride. $40 is meant to be for the ride up and all the attractions at the top. Yes, the lumberjack show is cheesy, the bird show is interesting enough, the tourists seem to like the wood carvings, the 2 bears in the refuge always seem to be sleeping, the movie about the refuge is interesting about how they rescued the bears and what research they're doing.

Yes, it is overpriced, but you can get around it by eating at the Observatory. Or walk up the Grouse Grind if you dare...

“This is such a rip off”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2010

It costs you $40 per person to take the sky ride and that covers nothing but the ride.

“What were they thinking when they (over)priced this”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2010

I thought it would be nice to take my family from out of town up to Grouse Mountain and have some lunch while looking over Vancouver. I hear on a clear day there's a great view of Vancouver. Then we found out the price to get on the tram - $39 per adult! With my family of six that would be around $200 before we did anything at the top!

Someone at Grouse should do a reality check. I guess the residents of Vancouver have too much money to throw away at overpriced tourist traps like Grouse.

“It wasn't worth the money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2009

My friend and I had to take a cruise ship out of the Vancouver port and decided to fly up a couple days earlier to explore the city and visit some attractions. We had very little time, so we had to pick and choose where we went and what we did. There was a sunset trip up to Grouse Mountain on the Skyride that we purchased on Expedia for about $60.00 per person. When we got there we extremely dissapointed. There isn't anything much to see or do as the sunset from my front porch is a lot better. There is a nice little restaurant when you get to the top that has really nice drinks-but that's about it. The lady at the gift shop has a very nasty attitude. No meals were included in the trip so we could've eaten in the city and done something else for a lot less money.

“There are better ways to spend the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2009

Lets take the Banff gondola as a benchmark. With $30 it is also somewhat pricey but you get an unforgettable 360° panoramic view. Compared to this Grouse Mountain is not worth the money, and maybe even the time. Views over the City are so-so (I enjoyed Vancouver Viewpoint much more), and there are some shows. One can see grizzly bears. Overall there is a bit of everything, but it doesnt add up to an real experience. $40 is way to expensive, and they charge extra for the parking.
If you go with kids, or in the wintertime it may be different.
