“Good choice for airport/Richmond area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Stayed overnight and had no complaints. Excellent service at checkin and checkout. Hotel was comfortable and modern and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on food.

Parking is very convenient (our rate didn't include parking which was an extra $14 though). The hotel is located 5 minutes from the airport and the shuttle bus runs hourly I believe so convenient for flight arrivals/departures. Airport check-in can be completed at a terminal in the lobby.

Overall a good choice - we would definitely stay again as long as we could find a discounted rate.

Stayed here when I was on a fishing trip to the Queen Charlotte Islands and had to fly out of the Vancouver south terminal for the trip. Very convenient location, close to the south terminal and had a free shuttle to it from the hotel. Service was excellent, rooms were standard rooms that you would expect from a well respected chain like the Delta. They even had a large walk in freezer dedicated to storing all the fish that fishing guest would bring back from their fishing trips. Great hotel, great stay

We were going t'o kayak the Queen Charlotte Islands and found the limited flights expensive ($800 from Seattle to Sandspit). BUT from Vancouver It was only $400. So we decided to save a few dollars and drive the 2 hours north. The next challenge was parking. The Delta offers THE DEAL - $170 for 2 weeks of parking and a one night stay, as well as the advantage of peace of mind of avoiding a border crossing the day of the flight. I may fly from Vancouver more often!

Clean, quiet, friendly, inexpensive hotel. Parking for a fee is too much! Lots of parking grounds that should be offered free of charge! Staff and service are great. Wi-fi works very well. Bathroom quite small but sufficient.

I had a quick business trip to attend a meeting in Vancouver, BC. I arrived late at night, cleared customs and jumped on a shuttle directly to the hotel. After just a 15 minute shuttle ride, I was there! It was just after midnight upon arrival.

Courteous staff at midnight is a great indication as to the service level of any hotel. Delta had very friendly and helpful staff to get me checked in quickly and to assist with a wakeup call.

With a 9:00 a.m. meeting the next morning, I needed a good nights sleep. The beds were just wonderful and I had no issue getting to sleep or sleeping the night through.

Upon waking I opened the room curtains and saw a lovely view of the inlet bay with its marina and people out for the morning row on the water. It was such a great setting and a wonderful way to start the day. You should not be disappointed in a stay here!

Even though the hotel room was cheaper because of a group rate I found this hotel to be very expensive and not family friendly. The rooms were very small if there are more than 2 people in the room it bacame very crowded and it was not helped by the fact the air conditioning system didn't work, making the room hot and uncomfortable for sleeping or just relaxing. If you didn't have access to a vehicle to go find a restaurant that was price worthy then you were stuck eating at the hotel restaurant which was very overpriced and the service was beyond slow. When taking children to eat who really wants to wait 45 minutes from waiting for a table to actually being served your meal? I don't especially when there is a time limit to your meal time and you are trying to feed children. Room service prices were higher than the restaurant prices and add to that the delivery charge, tip and taxes you are paying approximately $11.90 for a plate of Kraft Dinner and yes it says Kraft Dinner on the menu NOT macaroni and cheese or mac and cheese. So if you have money to burn by all means stay here but if not then really think about the final cost of this hotel. There is no type of breakfast offered with the price of your room and it cost $13.00 for a Continental breakfast. I will have to say that the hotel staff went above and beyond with the service and being helpfull and this is the only reason I more or less with the less being priority in my opinion enjoyed staying here. This hotel will work for people on an expense account but not for families on a budget.

Good day Kirstenkw,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback about our hotel, we need it so we can continuously improve.

First off allow me to apologize for any waits in our restaurant, as it's our goal to service everyone promptly, offering the best service and food possible. I would like to understand more about the air conditioning issues your experienced, as this is of top priority to us.

In regards to our pricing we feel that we are transparent with our prices such as room service, parking, room rates and so on. We feel the service level and amenities at the Delta Vancouver Airport are well worth our fair pricing structure. The menus at our restaurant and in room service do explain all prices, fees and delivery charges. Our guests are always clear on what the costs are prior to making a decision.

Finally in regards to our location, it's great! We are situated on a beautiful Marina and surrounded by the Fraser river, only a stones throw away from countless amenities. We offer a complimentary community shuttle that takes our guests to Richmond's largest mall, a casino, all the restaurants you can imagine, and more. We feel we are very well situated for a one night layover, or a week's vacation.

Please connect with me directly so we can discuss your expectations and the areas in which we need to improve on as well.

Thank you again,

Kelvin Monteiro

I stayed at the hotel a few nights ago due to a flight cancellation. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the airport and the ride takes about l0 minutes. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, the room was quiet, the bed comfortable and a great bathroom with good toiletries. I used the WiFi in my room without any problems and without using the cable. The breakfast was very good, offering two different buffets and al a carte breakfast menu - service was attentive and friendly. My room did not have a mini bar, but there were 24 hour options for food and drinks either in the room or in two or three bar/restaurants onsite. The food is reasonably priced. My only complaint was the coffee setup in the room - it needs to be updated. I had to phone downstairs for regular coffee and tea, thankfully I noticed this before retiring for the night. Bottled water and apples were provided in the room which was appreciated. Overall I highly recommend this hotel - apart from the very expensive hotel right at the airport this is probably the closest and offers a lot of facilities including I believe, rooms for pets, as I saw several golden retrievers inside during my stay. I will definitely stay there again and highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: If you need WiFi - make sure you ask about it at reception or ask for it when online booking.
