I stayed here a few years back (prior to the renovation done for the Olympics) and was dismayed by the state of the property and poor customer service. The hotel has redeemed itself. The room (signature king room) was beautifully decorated, although small. The bed was them most comfortable hotel bed that I have slept on in years. The signature club lounge was a bit disappointing compared to others in the brand-- limited selection for breakfast, no honour bar outside of set hours, but otherwise quite nice. i remain disappointed (this is a brand issue-- not a single hotel seems to do this well) that the requests of loyalty guests are always forgotten (eg. bed preference, towels etc). I want to note one thing, however.... I have NEVER (I mean, never ever) seen such amazing bell staff. They were ambassadors for the hotel. Warm and friendly to everyone. They are to be commended, as is the manager who fosters such an exceptional culture).

We stayed here the night of September 13 after booking through Priceline a few months ago. We landed about 11;45pm, cleared customs and waited a few minutes for the free shuttle. The last shuttle pickup is at 12:50am and they start again at 4am. We were at the hotel in less than 5 minutes. Check-in was quick and we were each given a bottle of water. The room was fine for a one night stay a bit small for an extended stay. Our room had two double beds. We asked for one king but they were sold out. In the morning we got hot tea from the coffee shop but did not eat at the hotel. We were on the shuttle bus back to the airport at 10:30am. Hotel staff were friendly and we would stay here again if we needed an airport hotel in Vancouver.

My spouse and I were returning home from a northbound cruise to Alaska. This necessitated an early debarkation from the cruise ship and an afternoon flight from Anchorage to Vancouver. Due to the time, there was a forced overnight in Vancouver to get our flight the next morning. We booked this hotel through a rewards program after researching its location on the Internet. Across from the airport terminal is a queue for various shuttles for rental cars, air crew and hotels in the area and downtown. There is a complimentary shuttle for guests at the Delta which runs every 20 minutes for most of the day. We waited about 20 minutes and were taken to the hotel, about a ten-minute drive, by a very friendly driver. Check-in was fast and efficient, even with a voucher from our rewards program. All hotel services were explained. Staff were friendly and courteous. The lobby is spacious and welcoming, and, overall, the hotel is in excellent condition. Our room was on the 6th floor overlooking the front parking lot, looking back towards the mountains to the east of the lower mainland area. It was just dusk and the sun on the mountains was very pleasing to look at. The room was well equipped, large bed, multiple pillows, flat screen TV, writing desk, Internet access (fee), sitting area, chair, large closet with ironing board and iron, and a dresser for storage. The bathroom was spacious, modern, with upscale toiletries, hair dryer, and massaging shower head. I believe Delta has a green policy for water conservation, towel exchange, etc. We only used the Pier 73 Restaurant which is located a short walk around the corner from the hotel on the local marina. We had appetizers and beers only. The restaurant is very nice and the view onto the marina was spectacular. We used the shuttle service again in the morning for an early flight home and the service was fast, efficient, with a very courteous driver.

The only hiccup in our stay was a non-functioning airline check-in kiosk. We reported the problem and were told that we would have to pay to use the main floor business centre to access the Internet to do the check-in. We felt that the hotel should have given us free access to do this as it was their equipment (or that of a lessee) that had malfunctioned.

All in all, a very pleasant stay after a long day, including a flight from Alaska.

We stayed three nights for a wedding and every employee we came into contact was very friendly and open to anything to make our stay more enjoyable. They truly 'walked the talk' and you could sense they were commited to customer service. Beds were excellent and free parking was appreciated. Also the Internet in the room was complimentary when you are a member of the Delta Privilege Club (no charge).
Appreciated too a maid asking to see and use my Room Card before allowing me (tactfully) entry into the room following her cleaning. No problem and nice to see this extra bit of security.

I always use this hotel when travelling south each year.Great pick up shuttle service, great food, great location. Also , a shuttle that runs to a casino , which features top shows. The restauraunt(pier ) is very good with a great view and location. They are also pet freindly.Will continue to use this hotel each year, as a solo traveller, it has everything i need and more.

The airport hotel has free shuttle and wifi in lobby. It's confortable with all mod cons, there is a sports bar/pub with fast food with is quite good, plenty of beers. Beds are good for sleep, it's excellent airport overnight. Breakfast is OK swimming pool outside is small.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of September as we got organized for our daughter to move into residence at UBC. At check-in I had the pleasure of being served by Qua, who was efficient and friendly. We chatted briefly about the reason for our stay, and later, much to my delight & amazement, she sent up a personalized card & small gift to our room to congratulate our daughter & wish her success at university!
It's not often someone is that thoughtful.
As our stay progressed, we found that all the staff we encountered were great! From the evening maid who saw us in the hallway & offered us a chocolate & bottle of water from her cart, to the always helpful bell captain who offered me a nice bottle of water when he saw me return to the hotel from my morning run!
Most hotels are pretty much the same, but the staff we met here made a big difference!
And, just for the record, we booked through a third-party discount web site so there was no bias shown vs. full paying guests.
