“Really nice stylish hotel- much better than usual airport hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2010

Stayed 1 night with my two teenage kids- had beautiful room with two super comfy queen beds. Would certainly recommend this hotel to others needing a place to stay by the airport.

My husband and I stayed 5 days at the Westin. I actually took pictures of the hotel but I'm not going to put them up since they look almost identical to the ones already posted.

Pros: Bathroom was awesome! Hotel is modern, green, clean, and chic. Since we stayed there for a week, we opted to participate in their green program every other day. For each day that we refused housekeeping, we received a voucher for $5 off of food, etc. at the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The cafe, the Apron, was cozy but the food was fabulous. In fact, it was the best food we had in Vancouver. The guest attendants and workers were friendly and helpful. It is walking distance from a Chinese center. The bakery there was delicious. The food in the food court were ok and 40 mins before closing time all the food vendors will sell their food for more than half off.

Cons: The hotel is located in an industrial area... so the scene outside of your window is not the best. Nothing there is free. Internet was expensive, I forget how much. Local call and 800 numbers are $1.10 + $0.10 per min. Water bottles in your room was $6 per bottle. Parking was $30 per day; once you check in, the hotel will automatically charge you $30 per day for your car unless you tell them to take it off. The fitness center and pool area was about a 10 min walk from my room; it required us to take the elevator to a different floor, walk down a long narrow hall, and then take a couple flights of stairs down again before you actually reach your destination. It's very inconvenient.

Parking suggestion: The hotel is a good 15 to 20 min drive from most of the attractions so you definitely need a car. We got a rental and parked on the streets nearby to avoid paying for parking the last 3 days. The staff had told us that you cannot park on the streets but after observing the locals and other visitors park for two days we decided to risk it and it worked out well. Also, there's a fridge in the hotel so we went to the grocery store nearby to stock our fridge with drinks. I don't believe in paying $6 for water.

We stayed at the Westin Wall for a 4 days and we were for the most part very happy with the hotel. We were given a spacious room with a nice view and a great bathroom. The staff was friendly and attentive. Parking and Internet are not free but the prices were not exorbitant either. This hotel is not within walking distance to anything so stay here only if you have a car. It was fairly close to the city center - about a 15 minute drive. All in all it was your run of the mill Westin experience.

Location: The Hotel is between the Skytrain stations (Canada Line) Bridgeport and Arberdeen (10-15 walk) off the No. 3 Road. Bridgeport is the closest station. It's behind the Comfort Inn and near an out of place Italian restaurant. If you have a car, drive through the Comfort Inn to get to the Westin as the street closest to the Westin is one way.

Hotel: Small lobby, almost boutique like as you weren't sure who is the concierge. Their restaurant, Apron, is suppose to be good, but we didn't eat there. Front desk staff were business like but not unfriendly. They were helpful if you ask, but that's about it.

Amenities: Not sure if you have to pay for parking, paid internet and breakfast is offered. Nothing free here....not even the water. Items included in the room is the safe (in closet), refrigerator, in room coffee maker using the pods, and hair dryer. Bathroom is nice and spa like, with a soaking tub, but due to the size of the sink, very little counter space for stuff. The vent system is great, as the mirror does not fog up after the shower. We had the king, it was comfortable and spacious. Free shuttle to airport but didn't see any offering to the casino.

What's nearby: Starbucks is about a 4-5 mins walk; there's an out of place Italian restaurant across the street. A liquor store is located in front of Comfort Inn. You can catch a few buses off the No. 3 Road, We didn't ride the buses only used the skytrain. The Boathouse is a short walk away (across the street). Also walking distance (15 minutes) are two popular Asian malls that offers quick eats or unusual asian shops you normally do not find in the states. Without a car, it's really not a good location, but if you have a car, it's an okay location.

My family and I stayed in this hotel the night before we departed vancouver. We wanted a hotel that we could trust and have a good night`s sleep in. We definetley got this. But,even though the beds were excellent, it was a complicating and ackward drive to reach the hotel.
When we got there we were greeted by a extrodinary valet who helped us with our luggage.Check-in was easy and we were soon in our room. There was a problem with the AC but soon it was up and running. Later that evening we decided to eat at the hotel`s restaurant ,The Apron.Oh what a meal!:) It was by far the best meal of the trip. This was a great find.

The hotel itself was beautiful and brand new. Had we not just arrived very late with young kids I'm sure we would have appreciated it much more. Westin's always have great beds, pillows and linens. Overall it was a quick stay, but we would likely go back if we had to be somewhere really close to YVR.

Stayed here two nights 8/5-7/10. This location was on my Garmin Nuvi GPS, but it is in a difficult to find location. Check in was a breeze, but I don't know why as an Starwoods member, you ask for extra towels and pillows, they are not there when you check in. Of course, they are very accommodating when you call housekeeping, but then I always feel I have to tip. The lobby was disappointing (nonexistent), not the usual Westin look. In fact, there were only two side benches for sitting. Also, upon check in and check out, the valet person was no where to be found..... Had to wait 15 minutes just for him to show up. I can't complain too much since I booked this hotel for
$112/night. Oh yeah, another bummer, $28.85 for parking a night!
