“Pleasant Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2011

We didn't expect much, but were plesantly surprised. The decor is simple & modern, but everything is there. We especially like the spacious & well-lit bathroom. The pool & gym are awesome. We had a very relaxing dip in the pool. Everything is clean, nice, quiet & serene.

Had two-day business trip in Vancouver. Overall, it is a nice new hotel. The room is in sufficient size with all necessary amenities. Particularly like its bathroom. The towels were clean and well organized. The only drawback it is too closer to the railroad intersection and major freeway which heading to the airport is also nearby so you can hear the street noise clearly. By the way, the selection of breakfast on the 15th Lounge room (for SPG memeber) is quite limited. And you have to use room key when taking elevator.

Since the facility is located in Richmond, you have the access to lots of Chinese restaurants and shopping centers near 3rd St, which is convenient to me.

Room Tip: Request for the room not facing the street. Be aware the hotel charges parking and in-room internet...

Great hotel near the airport. Great location. Friendly staff. Small front lobby for a Westin brand. No place to sit and wait for friends. Good value for what we paid thru Hotwire.

Clean, ultra modern bathroom. Free Starbuck coffee in room. Fridge. View of marina, Riverrock Casino is 3 minutes away.. Great Pool and hot tub. Exercise room well equipped. Only draw back -- they charge $11 per day for WiFi. I think it should be free like their sister hotel downtown -the Sheraton Vancouver Wall.

Room Tip: We faced the main road from the airport (11th Floor). There is a constant thumping noise everytime a...

This is a very beautiful small hotel. The hotel is a mere 5 minute taxi ride from the terminal at the airport with no chance of traffic. It is a brand new hotel with a very high standard of finishing. The design is very modern and comfortable.

The hotel is located very close to the Boat House restaurant which is a nice place for seafood. The hotel also has a restaurant in the facilities "Apron" which is quite well reviewed and serves delicious meals.

Otherwise the downside of the hotel is that it is not near any trendy districts and there is no good walking around the property. It is really the best hotel for someone who has a car to take them into the city, or who is only worried about accessibility to the airport.

We booked this hotel using Hotwire and were hoping to "luck out" and get the Fairmont at the airport - as if! The hotel is friendly, new and has everything right there. The restaurant was empty for lunch which always feels kinda creepy but my daughter and I had a delicious lunch and the waiter was not falling all over us which was nice. I really like Westin hotels as they have the best beds and a variety of pillows from which you can choose. This is a great hotel if you are arriving late into Vancouver and don't want to venture downtown or if you have an early flight and wish to be close to the airport. Not the Fairmont but definitely worth considering.

Pros:
Great location for the airport
Fab room
Cons:
Shuttle only picks up on demand (unlike all the others which run all the time)
The restaurant service was non-existent and the food below par.
