4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2014

We really like to eat here. It is a good central Richmond location, good fresh food, excellent gourmet burgers. Comfortable and pleasant surroundings. Good clean bathrooms. Also has a nice lounge/bar next to restaurant for before or after a meal.

“Poor food and lousy service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2014

My husband ordered lamb which was good but too pricey-$34! I ordered duck breast and the amount was not enough to fill my belly (1/4 of the amount of the lamb). When I asked for the refill of the bread after checking it was free refill, the 2nd order never came!!! I was told my parking fee will be deducted from the bill but the waiter did not do so on the bill - Good that I checked! Thus we gave 7% of tip to show we were not happy with their services. I wonder how Marriott hotel restaurant would have such bad service, or hire a waiter like that?

“Pretty good for a large group.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2014

We ate here as a large group of 15 to celebrate our son's high school graduation. The restaurant was very accommodating for this big group and set us up in a section off to one side for some privacy. It was quite noisy in this restaurant. It was noticeable since several of the grandparents are hard of hearing and found they really couldn't participate in the conversations very well. They mostly watched and nodded politely during the meal. The food was good but unusual. It was presented in different piles so that it looked small. It was actually quite good but a little off-putting for some people in the group. The service was very good and the location was good for all of us to access. We might like to try this place again with just a small group of us to compare.

“poor attitude”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2014

When we checked in at 7:30 we were told our reservation wasn't entered in the system. We called the previous night to reserve. No apology, just a flat denial. We asked if we could be seated anyway, as the place wasn't near full, but they didn't jump on that idea. We were told that they "didn't have any tables for 6 available". There was an empty table for 4 right in front of us and lots of empty tables for 2. We suggested that they combine tables & eventually that's what happened. Not a stellar beginning. We ordered & the drinks arrived. The cocktails were good. The menu was interesting and varied. Unfortunately the meals took over an hour to arrive, and the place wasn't full! Everyone ordered a different meal & we all agreed that the food was good. One person ordered root beer, he was told by the server that the "endless" refills were free. We were there for a LONG time & the drinks were small & full of ice. When he ordered a final root beer, near the end of the night, the server actually rolled her eyes behind him (I was facing them). She never brought the drink. When she presented the bill he asked about the drink & she laughed but still didn't bring it or apologize. I have never seen anyone cut off of soda before! He was quite insulted by the server's attitude, either refills are endless or not. I'll bet a bar drink would have been served, and the rest of us were drinking! Maybe she wasn't happy that we were using Entertainment Coupons? We followed the rules & only went there because we had the coupons & wanted to try out a new place. We would not return.
