“Great Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

Went with my fishing buddy and was not disappointed. The prawn cocktail was the best. Great service in a very nice restaurant. Food was great and a fun place to go.

“worst restaurant experience ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

My Dad was in town for one night and i wanted to take him out for a late Father's Day Dinner. As Chop's Steakhouse was right in his hotel we decided to give it a try. The service was absolutely terrible! 4 servers for about 15 tables in total and they couldn't handle it. We waited for service (20 minutes to take our order) while the staff chatted amongst themselves. Maybe if the girls weren't wearing 4' spikes they could actually walk. Our order was finally taken and they brought us one bun for two people and no side plates to cut the bun in half and butter it. I went looking for a server and found them all hanging out in the kitchen, noone else around. I stood there for 5 minutes while everyone ignored me and finally yelled out "hey can i get some service here!" They brought us plates and apologized but i noticed another table buttering their bread on the the table itself too...."
The food came, i order the wasabi crusted ahi tuna. No crust, and a smear of green tubed wasabi on top. The tuna was actually kind of gristley.
We should have went to Denny's, the food and service would have been much better.

“nice restaurant in the Sandman signature”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

Ate here while staying at the sandman Signature on a recent business trip. Was by myself so sat at the bar, as it is a nice way to have a conversation... if you don't meet another patron, you always have the bartender to talk to. I was fortunate enough to have a greta chat with the bartender and another guest.

Atmosphere was lovely, although it was such a nice day outside I wish they had a patio... or maybe there was one, and I just didn't see it.

Food was basic steakhouse fare... but they did have the absolute BEST french onion soup I have ever had... OMG, decadent.

Decent wine list, some by the glass, bottles were well priced.

Bartender/server was very engaging and friendly and really looked after me as a solo female patron. All in all, pretty happy!

“Great Value in this Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

The Chop Steakhouse is hidden amongst a group of hotels which service the nearby international airport. It is not well known in the Vancouver area, perhaps because the majority of its clientele are staying in these hotels while in town.

The prices for their steaks are much lower than what you'd expect in a Steak and Chop Bar, but the quality of the steak is just as good. There is a generous menu of seafood and other entrees including lobster liguini for those who want something different than steak.

It is suitable for business dinners where you want to continue discussions, and all in our party proclaimed their meal to be great. There is a varied wine and cocktail list, with reasonably priced options in both categories, as well as daily specials.

The decor is clearly steakhouse, but suitable for virtually any group. There is a patio, and there is dining in the bar as well as the restaurant.

The service was very good and relaxed. Our waitress was there when we needed her, and she wasn't there every 5 minutes asking "how are the first few bites" which seems to be a mantra they are teaching in every restaurant known to man these days.

Fully recommend this restaurant to everyone.

“Decent food, Terrible Service.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

The food was alright even though it was not prepared as asked. Items were forgotten, had an entire shrimp cocktail spilled on me by the waitress who then laughed about it. Ate there because we were staying at the Hotel. I would only go back if I was staying at the hotel and was pressed for time or without a vehicle.
