Instead of staying in Banff like we normally do, we decided to try the Copperstone. We are very glad we did. It was nice to have a larger space, not just a room, complete with a kitchen and laundry. And the prices were reasonable! The amount of money we saved on restaurants was definitely worth the little bit extra that we paid compared to a hotel in Canmore or Banff.
You definitely need a car to stay here. Canmore and Banff are close, but if you are flying in, you need to make sure you rent a car. There really is nothing in Dead Man's Flats, and if you're a runner (which we both are), the furthest you can run is about 5 km. Anything further and you would have to run on the highway.
We had a few minor issues when we checked in, but the front desk staff had everything sorted for us within the first half hour we arrived. I read a few other comments about the hot tub and barbeques, but we had no problems with waiting to get a barbeque and the hot tub is large enough to accommodate the people that were there. We didn't have any issues during the entire week that we were there.
