My husband and I stayed at the Gateway in August, 2011 in our caravan. Whilst at the Gateway, we stayed on one of their powered caravan sites. After only one day of arriving, I became very ill and ended up in hospital. When I returned to the Gateway, the staff showed that they cared and weren't just happy to receive our money for accommodation. We ended up staying almost a week and every day the staff checked on how I was and let us know very clearly that they were there for us. On our last day, we heard a knock at our door and there was one of the staff holding the most beautiful flower arrangement for me. I was absolutely overwhelmed that a caravan park would care SO much. My husband also mentioned that no matter what member of staff you saw, there was always a big smile and a welcoming "Hello how are you". The manager on duty when we were there was Sharon - oh what a beautiful person she is - so caring.
I must also mention, seeing that's why we were there, the park caters so well for its guests. The showers/toilets were cleaned to a very high quality; the grounds, including around our site, were very well grassed and cared for; bringing a van in/out is easy; checking in/out was a breeze; local shops are fantastic, which included Coles, Baker's Delight, K-Mart, Curves studio, doctors who bulk bill, video hire, Asian restaurant, all within walking distance of the park. As it is very close to Blacktown, you can drive there or take a bus and catch a train into the City to see a show etc. Although it is close to the freeway, we had no noise from it. Driving from Canberra to the Gateway was an absolute breeze along th M7. One day we had a problem with a very noise neighbour in a cabing - after speaking to the office the problem was resolved immediately. As I said before, this is a very caring park who are there for there guests not the money. Whenever we need to visit Sydney, this is where we will always stay in our caravan. Our TV didn't work that well so next time we'll stay on a Premium site for $5 extra where they have plug-in cabling.
