Our group of seven booked Ile de France after reading good reviews. Parking on the street has time limits, but there is a parking building across the street. The cafe is situated in a character building, giving a pleasant ambience, and good light. Despite the hard surfaces, the noise level was bearable, though our table was tucked around the side of the counter, and not in the main area. Being just before Christmas, the cafe was full, and with only two waiting staff, the service was slow. The food however, was superb, and authentically French. There is a well-planned choice on the menu, as well as specials on the blackboard. I am careful where I eat duck, but is was perfectly cooked here. One guest said the snails were among the best he had eaten. All diners at our table pronounced their dishes to be lip-smackingly good. With main courses in the $33 to $45 bracket, the prices are on the dearer side, but worth every centime.
