“a fine meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

in my four days in ein hod, i ate at dona rosa's twice: the food, wine and service were that good.

the restaurant's history begins in argentina, and its meat-centered menu reflects that. the founder's grandsons operate the restaurant now, and they surely made me feel at home.

the portions are large and well-presented and the wine choices complement the meats. the service is friendly and competent and the grandsons happy to talk with you about the history and present circumstances of their restaurant.

“Wonderful meat in amazing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

The Dona rosa restaurant is an Argentinian meat restaurant serving great food. their specialties are of course the meat which is tasty and fresh.
We came here several times and enjoyed every single time. I specially recommend the Sinta steak (although in most places I prefer Entrecote but here the Sinta is better).
the only time I didn't like the meat was when we ordered Butchers steak but it might be a matter of taste...
Don't miss the Banana desert - very sweet but one of a kind.
You can combine the restaurant with visiting Ein-Hod which is an amazing place with many local artists shops.
Enjoy

“The best service in Israel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2011

We eat at Dona Rosa approx once a month, usually with business colleagues from abroad, but often by ourselves, and we love it.
It's an Argentinian grill and the meat is cooked on a grill and then brought to your table on a smaller grill to keep it warm.
The starters are all wonderful and are served with bread that has just come out of the oven.
The meat is cooked to perfection and you can order side dishes at an extra price if you want.
This is also one of the few restaurants in Israel where you can eat all types of Pork.
They have now started to serve Kobe Beef, which my husband loves.
Most of the desserts are different to those you would normally have and they're all very nice - believe me I've tasted them all!
There are Israeli and South American wines and they are all very good.
For those who aren't big meat eaters there are a few veggie dishes and we found them very nice too.
The best thing about this restaurant is definitely the service!!! They can't do enough for you and will explain things to you if you're not sure. They also advise you if they think you've taken too much as some of the portions are very large. I can't praise it enough - well done guys!!!!

“Very Very Disappointed ! Avoid !!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2011

Four of us came to this restaurant for dinner. Two of us had to send our steaks back twice as we were told our version of "medium" was incorrect !! We then witnessed the waitress talking and laughing about us at the bar-highly rude and unprofessional. Menu was overpriced for what you get. Upon leaving we asked the manager if we could have a word with him outside, so as to not embarrass him in front of other customers and his staff. He told us to wait outside for him and said he would be out in a minute. He then closed the door behind us and locked us out !!! We saw him standing and laughing with his staff at the counter. unbelievable for a manager to behave this way. Recommend you avoid this place at all costs.

“Overpriced hot spot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2010

This restaurant has a young, trendy vibe, popular with weekenders from Tel Aviv. Reservations in advance are a must on the weekend, when the restaurant is full of frantic activity. On the weekend, it is not a restaurant for quiet lingering.

The food was good, but the portions are quite small. There were four of us, and we ended up ordering 6 main dishes and sides. Accordingly, the meal was pricey. The sides are quite delicious and well priced. The wine list is extensive and good. I would not recommend this restaurant if you're hungry.
