“Nice and relaxing stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights,a nice quiet, friendly place to stay, not too far from the main road, although far enough away not to hear any noise of the traffic.
Excellent tasty food for breakfast all freshly cooked to order, evening meals also available, very nice too.
Rooms kept spotlessly clean as well.
Well worth a visit if your looking for somewhere to stay in the Brecon Beacons.

We stayed 2 nights whilst walking in the Brecons. The Plough and Harrow is a small pub which is only open Easter to November. It has 3 B and B rooms.
The rooms are delightful and spotlessly clean, nice bedding and toiletries. generous selection of biscuits etc with the tea and coffee making tray.
Sue is most welcoming and the breakfast is outstanding with local fresh ingredients.
we did not have an evening meal ther so cannot comment on that aspect but as a B and B stop in a friendly pub, highly recommended. .

What a great place and one we would visit and use again. We used it as a base for our walking holiday in October and it has a wonderful couple as hosts. Tehy catered so well in food, help, information etc. The room was compact but clean and comfortable - well stocked hospitality tray each day. Shower was adequate and worked but nice power shower would have been nice. The toilet did struggle to flush but soon sorted. They even dried our boots for us each day and remembered our preferences at breakfast.

We visited for an evening for food and drink as part of a vist to the area. This is an excellent local with good pub food and beers. In an outstanding part of the county - ideal for walking/cycling holidays. They also have rooms available. We were told that they close over the winter from the end of October. D&S 5/10

We have just enjoyed a 3 night stay in the twin room. Although compact, there was enough storage and hanging space with a good number of wooden hangers. The hospitality tray was generously stocked and bottled water was provided every day. The shower was electric so don't expect Niagara Falls but everything worked. The beds were comfortable and the room was kept immaculately clean.

Breakfast was included, with a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and juices, followed by a full Welsh breakfast if you could handle it. Evening meals are also available and cooked to order. The lamb was excellent.

Parking is available in front of the pub. Everyone was very welcoming and we would love to stay there again.

We stayed for one night. The TV is still on top of the wardrobe but it works fine ! Home-cooked food was excellent. A bit noisy from nearby main road traffic, otherwise a delightful setting with welcoming hosts.

We stayed at the Plough and Harrow for one night while travelling in Wales. The location is pleasant in the heart of Welsh country with Brecon a short drive away. The owners were particularly friendly an welcoming and our room was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee, water etc. We had our evening meal there, Welsh lamb steaks, which was very good home cooking, if a little expensive. After our meal the owners said that no one was using the suite so if we wanted we could use the suite sitting room to read or watch TV etc. A very nice friendly touch. (The small TV in our room was perched on top of the wardrobe which would have been annoying for more than one night - for little cost this could be improved) The hotel is basically a good B&B pub and for stays of more than one night we would recommend booking the suite which would make an extended stay very comfortable and reasonably priced (£10 more than a standard room). Breakfast in the morning was very good particularly the scrambled egg. We would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: Book the suite for longer stays.
