The 2-BR suite was such a disappointment. The AC unit in the room had to be replaced. We even suggested that they transfer us to a new room. The lock on the door was a very simple lock (opened by a key) not even at par with the deluxe room. It can be easily opened if one intends to.
Here's what happened:
We arrived at the hotel shortly after we fetched our father from the airport. He flew for over 8 hours and so he expected that after we have checked in, he can already take a rest. We booked 2 rooms. One deluxe room roughly 3500 a night and one 2 BR suite roughly 10,900 a night. The room given to us were at the 35th and 19th floor respectively. My sister, my nephew and I took the deluxe room whereas my parents and 3 more siblings took the 2BR suite.
I have nothing against the deluxe room. Everything was okay. We were already comfortable with what was there. But it isn't the case for my family down the 19th floor. When I went down to check on them, my parents were already complaining that it's too hot. What I noticed was that the living room has no AC unit. What they did was to keep the doors open for the 2 rooms so that the living room area would also be reached by the aircon . At that time I was already getting irritated because the hallway outside the room was hot (no AC too!) and it's also the same inside my parent's room. To make the matters worse, one of the AC units in the 2BR suite wasn't really working. Thus, I called the front desk. The person I talked to said, she will notify the maintenance (whatever they call the person in-charge) staff. But ten minutes have passed and nobody came. I called again. I received the same answer. I was getting irked already so I left the room and went back to the 35th floor. After 15 minutes, I went down again, and this time, my mother was the one already complaining of the heat. And because I can no longer take the situation, I decided to personally visit the front desk. And the response I got was a feigned innocence of the failure of their colleague to check on my parents room! Again, the front desk personnel told me that in 15 minutes, the room will be already checked.
Finally when the hotel staff came, we were informed that the AC unit will be replaced. WHAT THE F! They said that it would take some time to replace the unit. I proposed that they transfer us to a new unit with all the discomfort and inconvenience their nonworking AC unit brought us. Imagine 3 people going in and out of your room. How about my family's privacy and comfort? My father's already very tired and dismayed and yet he still decided to go to the front desk. When he came up the room, he said that they'll be transferred to a new room but only for the mean time that the AC unit's being replaced. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!!!! Imagine all the discomfort this has caused us...my parents...my siblings... Why not just let my family settle in a new room. Imagine that we'd have to go back and forth and bring all our bags with us. Just the thought's tiring and troublesome already!!! From 19th to 28th floor and then back to 19th floor. How should my father rest in that kind of situation?
What's even more disappointing is that they weren't even sorry. No apologies at all. Even during check out, none. nothing. as in zilch.
