Myself, my boyfriend and his family visited this restaurant a few times during the summer. The restaurant is located in the grounds of the beautiful Abbey of Fossanova and the setting is spectacular. We were greeted straight away by a friendly waiter who seated us outside, sheltered under some trees, with a view of the church. It is particularly nice to go in the evening time as the church is lit up and the atmosphere is lively.
The food was amazing. The menu offers the traditional food of the area, but done with a modern edge. The anitpasti is varied and you can definately tell it is made with the very best produce of the region. I had a delicious plate of ravioli for primi, stuffed with potato and mint in a goat ragu, followed by a roasted rooster with herb potatoes for secondi. My boyfriend particulary enjoyed his secondi which was a perfectly cooket fillet of buffalo. It all arrived at a casual pace and was all beautifully plated with care.
Even though we were absolutely full of food we had to try some dessert, and it was worth it! I have to recommend the absolutely delicious buffalo ricotta and fruit coulis. It's something special.
Overall the service was brilliant, great advice on wines of the area, the food was delicious and the bill was very reasonable. what more could you ask for? That's why we went back again and again!
