“Best stay in Switzerland”

Interlaken is a great place to adventure in the alps, and there's no better home base than balmers. Staff was great, everything was shockingly clean, and the location was central to many hikes and only a short bus ride from the train station. A fantastic overall experience.

The Balmer's tent village is a very unique hostel in Switzerland! Instead of the typical dorm room set-up in a building, the tent village offers strictly all tents with bunk beds inside of them. But dont worry, the tents aren't the usual vinyl tents you'd go camping in. They are built using a metal structure and a thicker/stronger material than typical tents. It also includes sheets, pillows, and blankets! But make sure to bring your own towel for the showers! We went during late Spring and noticed the tents can get hot during the day, but very cold at night. You are able to lock your tent if you are going out for the day. Only you & your tent-mates know the combination to get inside the tent.

In the center of the tent village is a relaxing area that has a pool, hot tub, and lounge chairs! Right next to that is the main structure that houses the reception desk, bar, lockers, showers, toilets, and dining tables. They offer complimentary tea & coffee, as well as free use of their microwave and fridge, but there is no food available on-site. Instead, there is a shopping center right across the street that has a supermarket inside with a great selection of food & drinks!

Employees working the reception desk were extremely friendly and were eager to assist you with anything! They educate you on all the different activities available around Interlaken and encourage you to explore! To help you get around, you get an ID Card that allows you to take the local bus for free to anywhere in Interlaken!

Room Tip: All the tents are the same. Some might just have less beds in it than others depending on if you wan...

We stayed here for 2 nights and the stay has been simply amazing!!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were welcomed with a smile and we could feel lot of energy all around the place. The hot tub is soooo awesome!!! Lying in the hot water tub while surrounded with picturesque mountains!! This experience can not be described in words. We also got the opportunity to meet the owner .. He is very friendly. I am glad we got to meet him.

A bus pass was given when we checked in. Which made our travel in the city a lot more easier. Overall a great experience. I will definitely come back here.

We had an enjoyable stay at the tent hostel. Although the location was a bit of a hike from downtown upon our arrival, we were given free bus passes to use during our stay which more or less solved the problem. The staff let us leave our bags there at 10:00 the morning of our arrival while waiting for our room to be ready. We also walked across the street to the grocery store to buy food, which is a nice location benefit. Overall it was great

The tent village is the best place to stay in interlaken, at least during the summerReasonably priced and a great location. The free bus pass and chill hangout really gave the best possible experience.

I initially only booked two nights here, but kept going back and ended up staying a whole week.
The atmosphere is great, the people are friendly and the facilities are amazing.
The connection with Outdoor Interlaken is also amazing, you can book at the tent village reception, and have Outdoor Interlaken pick you up from there.

All the people I ran into there were extremely friendly, I was traveling alone and I was easily able to fit in and go on outdoor adventures with people I met at the tent village.

It was an amazing experience, I became addicted to Interlaken and the tent village, I would highly recommend this place to any backpacker.

Room Tip: The tents get cold at night and warm up quick as the sun rises, but that said, two sets of blankets...
