“Great price, accommodating staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012 via mobile

We had an enjoyable stay at the tent hostel. Although the location was a bit of a hike from downtown upon our arrival, we were given free bus passes to use during our stay which more or less solved the problem. The staff let us leave our bags there at 10:00 the morning of our arrival while waiting for our room to be ready. We also walked across the street to the grocery store to buy food, which is a nice location benefit. Overall it was great

The tent village is the best place to stay in interlaken, at least during the summerReasonably priced and a great location. The free bus pass and chill hangout really gave the best possible experience.

I initially only booked two nights here, but kept going back and ended up staying a whole week.
The atmosphere is great, the people are friendly and the facilities are amazing.
The connection with Outdoor Interlaken is also amazing, you can book at the tent village reception, and have Outdoor Interlaken pick you up from there.

All the people I ran into there were extremely friendly, I was traveling alone and I was easily able to fit in and go on outdoor adventures with people I met at the tent village.

It was an amazing experience, I became addicted to Interlaken and the tent village, I would highly recommend this place to any backpacker.

Room Tip: The tents get cold at night and warm up quick as the sun rises, but that said, two sets of blankets...

This place is a great value for your money. The staff is very helpful, you tell them what you are interested in and they will give you ideas of what to do and if you want to do any events (canyoning, paragliding, Sky Diving, etc), they will set them up for you. The tent village includes a free bus pass, a hot tub, pool, tight rope, grill, and hammocks. There is a bar on sight, and a grocery store across the street. The Tent Village has a community refrigerator for purchases made at the stores. My friends and I stayed in a community tent, it was the cheapest option, six beds, and we had random people assigned to our tent on full nights, which was great because we got to meet so many people. We enjoyed sitting outside the bar at the picnic table meeting all the people. If you are worried about a rowdy crown, have no fear there is a quiet hours from 10pm (2200) to 7am (0700).

My friends and I would definitely stay here again.
Try the tea it is amazing.

Balmers is a beautiful hostel located in between breathtaking mountains. There are so many different things to do here. The bathrooms are clean and so are the tents. Highly recommend!

There is no better place for a chilled environment, great views, friendly staff and a hot tub in Interlaken.

The location of the tent village is just outside the main city of Interlaken and there is no shortage of buses that will take you into the town. But it is a great walk if you fancy doing it. Which is free might I add. You literally wake up to the sun rising over the mountains.

The service is fantastic as they are very friendly and there is free tea and coffee all day and night. You will get great advice on what you can do in Interlaken and you can book it right from the village.

The value is great because you are paying nothing for good beer/cider, location, tent/bed, security and friendly people.

There is a hot hub. Period!

Free wifi!

Room Tip: One closed to the hob tub and a bottom bunk.

Picked this hostel on a whim, as other inter-railing plans fell through, and because it was cheap. The hostel couldn't have been any different from what i had expected. When I read "Tent village", it reminded me of previous camping trips; usually bad food and worse hygiene. The tent village has done alot to redeem my view of camping (although it is far from traditional camping), with its free and large range wi-fi, free tea/coffee and the ability to use a microwave (made my stay so much cheaper). That doesn't even factor in the hot tub and pool (yes, you did read that right. A hot tub in a tent village). The staff are also very helpful, and available all day

Brilliant place to stay, with comprehensive services, low cost, nice staff and quite comfortable beds. would highly recommend.
