“A lovely view of the mountains but rusty furniture and linen”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2011

Room was spacious and had a balcony with a lovely view of the mountains, the quality of breakfast was good. The place had rusty furniture and linen, a smell of defile (the windows must be opened).
Οnly a few minutes walk to downtown Interlaken, but not easily walkable from the station (is located just a few steps away from the bus stop with buses to both the Interlaken Ost and the Interlaken West stations).
You can book paragliding, skydiving, canyoning, river rafting and any other adventures in minute at the desk.
Wi-Fi is free but available only in the lounge area.

The place had rusty furniture, a dirty pool, dirty rooms and a stinking bathroom. The building was decrepid and falling down with crumbling balcony and dirty carpet through out. The place was full of back packers and a was a hostel rather than a hotel which is clearly mis represented on the website. There was noise throughout the night from other guests, music and dogs barking. When we expressed our concerns to the management we were told we could either stay and pay or leave and find another hotel . Not a very pleasan man. What spa?

I lived at this hotel for several months and they offer everything you could want. The gardens are beautiful with a koi pond and outdoor dining if preferred. Continental breakfast is excellent/, As well you can book paragliding, skydiving, canyoning, river rafting and any other adventures in minute at the desk (don't miss the canyon jump though it is not for the faint of heart). Family owned and run you never want to leave. They also have a hostel at the back of the property (the Funny Farm) Perfect for students traveling through for the summer. It beats Balmers (another hostel in town) by miles and they offer excellent music at night in the Caverne, It is impossible to not fall in love with this beautiful historical hotel and only a few minutes walk to downtown Interlaken.

Room Tip: ask for rooms facing the acres of ponds, flowers

Room was spacious and clean and had a balcony with a lovely view of the mountains...the location was quiet and peaceful....the quality of breakfast was very good..we had dinner in the restaurant on one night and it was very good and reasonably priced with excellent service...Wi-Fi is free but available only in the lounge area...the bed was not very comfortable....the hotel is not easily walkable from the station but is located just a few steps away from the bus stop with buses to both the Interlaken Ost and the Interlaken West stations..it takes less than 10 minutes by bus to both the stations and there are buses every 25 minutes or so

the plan was to spend only two nights at the hotel but ended staying four nights. The staff and atmosphere made our trip to Interlaken one we will never forget. This hotel offers the most for the money, They have a great lounge area, free internet, and a beautiful St. Bernard.

Our original stay was for 6 days, extended by 7 days due to the volcanic ash problem. We enjoyed the extended stay, learning to play pool in the hotel. Staff were very friendly. We had unlimited free access to internet which helped us keep track of the flight situation. Good, though limited food options in the hotel. The breakfast could have been a little better.
