I made a last minute decision to stay in San Vito and drove through town looking for a place to stay. A couple of miles out of town, I followed the sign to this hotel and was met at the restaurant by the cook who offered to show me the cabinas. There were many Tico families having lunch there, with their children playing in the garden below. The restaurant has a rustic charm and is open onto the surrounding property, Wifi is available there. I was led 200 meters up a small hill to the cabinas, organised in a horseshoe shape, each with it's own deck with half facing the distant views of the valley, the other half giving onto the restaurant gardens.
I visited several cabinas, some have two double beds, others have three. They are built of wood and have a rustic look but they were well maintained, clean and spacious. The bathrooms have a shower and a single sink and toilet, towels are provided. I enjoyed several meals at the onsite restaurant, for breakfast you can order eggs any style with toast and enjoy the excellent Gallo Pinto as well a a good cup of coffee from the local brand of Coto Brus. The other meals were simple fare but all very tasty and the ladies who cooked and served were charming and enjoyed chatting about the local area.
I also met the owner, he brought over a regimen of bananas from his property which he was glad to share and he showed me the pond where they keep Tilapia fish and other seafood, fresh for the table.
I could not have picked a better place to stay for a couple of nights, it was a genuinely local operation with a very relaxed and informal vibe.
