“Good Pub Grub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

We went to the Walkers Arms on Friday for lunch for the first time since it was re built after a fire a few years ago. The food was excellent, with our 3 meals being a pizza, fish and chips and wedges. They were all very tasty and the prices were reasonable. We chose to sit in the beer garden and were able to watch a baseball game on the large screen TV while sitting in the sun. This hotel was always a good place to visit for a meal and it is even better since the re build.

We can recommend it and we will go back. We might try the buffet next time.

We used to go to the buck , but the food was second rate, the buffet here is great value , plenty of choices and good quality , if you cant eat a 3 course meal In 90 minutes eat somewhere else, kids were made welcome , perhaps kids under 5 could be free on sundays

With an amazing range of hot and cold food it will be easy to go back for seconds like we did but make sure you leave room for dessert and coffee, the little slices etc are just yum and with the whole buffet around 32 dollars a head it was good value. Sadly I did not see one staff member smile the whole time we were there and there appeared to be only one person manning the huge bar given the amount of time we had to wait for drink service. Having booked for the first sitting we felt we were being rushed to leave in time for the second sitting to come in. We would go back again for the food but only if we could get the later sitting.

Room Tip: If you are booking lunch on a weekend take the second sitting for a more relaxed experience.

On Sunday they charge $32 per head and it really wasn't worth it. The food was pub standard and they stopped putting it out at about 3. It is noisy, they have large TV screens with sports on, and the place looks a little tired.
If it is volume you are after then this may be your place, just go on a day other that Sunday when thye charge $10 less.

I went with some friends to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance was very nice. There were many food choices considering that I'm vegetarian. The taste of the food was amazing. We enjoyed our dinner. Price was just value for money.

If you like good food and lots of it, don't walk past the buffet at the Walkers Arms.
There are many different cuisines and lots to try for those who like to indulge; roasts, pasta, sushi, salads, seafood, pizza, curry, noodles and more; truly something for everyone. There is an equally diverse and impressive range of desserts with individual servings of some treats and a seemingly endless supply of your favourites. Pay the premium price on Saturdays or check the menu for less busy times where the same food costs much less.

We were trying to find a place to have a Sunday afternoon meal. So we tried the impressive looking Walkers Arms and it definitely didn't let us down. Great decor, lovely live music, very friendly staff and the food was really top draw. I has the Murray Valley Pork Loin, my wife had the Wild Mushroom risotto and the lad had a kids meal. All meals were great, hot, well presented and served well. Top marks and we'll definitely return.
