“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2010

Well maintained, organized, clean, great campsites! Fast free WiFi, inside city so access to everything via bike/trolley, walking, great location easy to get to mountains. Quiet time begins at 8pm so no loud parties. Shady lots of trees, not dusty.

Only downside is it is near highway so you hear traffic all night long.

Highly recommended.

“This is not camping”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2010

What a joke! The website for this place is totally deceiving. Camping along the highway is not camping. I was beyond bummed out when we arrived, so upset in fact that even after paying for 2 nights I decided to call up a few other campsites in Tahoe to see if anyone had any openings. Ended up staying two nights at DL Bliss instead...which was AMAZING. Don't stay here unless you want to be able to walk to Denny's and the casinos.

“Loud machine equipment started up at 5:00 am - 7:00 am”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2009

Camp has rules not to make noise from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am, although loud equipment in either or both of the two yards ( maintenance yard - corp yard ) gets started up at 5:00 am and /or about 7:00 am. It is not what I feel is true campng. You are close to the city and can bike to restaurants and grocery stores, take the city trolley and go to many places in Tahoe.

“Awesome location, terrific staff, and beautiful grounds....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2009

We've been coming to Tahoe for many summers, now , and have never stayed at Campground by the Lake. We always wanted to, but didn't, until this summer. We have loved staying here and enjoyed all the amenities and close proximity to the lake, stateline, laundromat, grocery store and restaurants. We walked and biked everywhere. We've enjoyed the whole experience! Our friends, who have never been to Tahoe, came up to join us for several days and were in awe! We are hoping to become camp hosts in the near future.....
