Deerfield Lodge is a quality place to stay. Rooms were beautiful and spacious. The location was close to casinos and beach. The lodge is small, but the rooms and service over accommodate for any luxuries the larger hotels may have. Deerfield Lodge was definitely a diamond in beautiful Lake Tahoe. Kelsey was friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to going back to stay a little longer next time.

Recently returned from wedding like several others. Had a suite that was beyond our expectations as was the sevice. I haven't been regarded this well even at top rated hotels in SF, Seattle or Portland which leaves out LA, NY, etc. Got into a bind with car breakdown plus expenses, needed to stay a couple of extra days and mgt. went out of their way to accommodate and work with us. Next time will definitely come back if space available. The couple that manage it make the difference, hopefully the owners appreciate them.

Room Tip: West end quiet but poor Wi-Fi, thankfully central area open all noc with excellent connection.

The lodge has 12 room. Curtiss are not hung up correctly. Very noise metal stairs. Every time someone walks up the stairs it echoes through out the entire lodge. There is a fire pit that is in the courtyard. People gather there drink, talk loudly an shout to friends in the rooms. Breakfast was set up one day . On the next day there were no cups, sugar, or napkins. There is no consistent time for this breakfast . Sometimes 8 , sometimes 9:30.

I just returned from a summer wedding in Tahoe where our group rented out nearly the entire lodge. The rooms were spacious and it was especially convenient that our room had separate full bathrooms. The property was quiet and comfortable (maybe we were a little loud at night, but we were only bothering our own friends in this situation). The staff was very friendly and helpful, making themselves available even off the clock to respond to any requests. Cleaning service was available, as were all kinds of delicious snacks, and even a complimentary bottle of wine. The outside temps were abnormally warm, so the ceiling fans were key given the property has no A/C. I'd recommend turning off the fireplace pilot light, as recommended by the staff on hot days. The property is located in a great spot to walk to the local market that pops up every Friday afternoon, or down to the lake. There is also easy access to HWY 50 to head toward Emerald Bay, or back toward NV and Cave Rock. All in all, this was a great trip, and a great place to stay.

My wife and I attended a wedding at Tahoe and spent three nights at the Deerfield Lodge. Our stay there made the entire event "heavenly." Our room was a suite and was finely appointed. The furniture, the decor, the amenities, and the quiet setting were equal to any 5-star hotel in we have stayed. What made the stay even more special was the treatment we received from the manager (Doug) and his wife. They made us feel like family, and took care of our every need. Our suite had a fireplace in the living room which really was nice due to Tahoe's very cool evenings. We also had a small gas stove (simulated wood burning) in our bedroom. The temps during the day were in the 70's and a gentle breeze was always blowing, so we had no need for AC. Each room had ceiling fans which were nice to keep the air moving. Our room had a bar style kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, and a Keurig single cup coffee brewer. We were also supplied all the single serving coffee containers and pastries we needed. Wine and champagne we always free for the asking, and their selection is really nice. Our suite had two bathrooms which were really nice, and the master bath had one of the largest and BEST jacuzzis we have ever had in a hotel room. We enjoyed the quiet courtyard and the outdoor fire pit for conversation and meeting other guests. I can't imagine why a few other reviewers had any negatives about their stay, as ours was perfect.

Room Tip: Request a room toward the back of the property, and on the first floor. These rooms allow you to lo...

If I were going to own a hotel, this is the way I would want to run it. None of the pretentious things, just good old fashioned hospitality. Upon arriving, we were shown to our room and the fellow asked us what we wanted to do during our stay, gave us the cook's tour of the room and then brought back a bottle of wine to our room with a couple of glasses. What a great first impression! There was a nice gift tray of goodies on the counter, a wonderfully comfortable bed that was freshly made each day, two TV sets (for those who would want them), immaculate back yard filled with pine trees, bbq pits, fires, you name it. I never did figure out who the owners were...everyone I talked to acted like THEY owned it, which is a great sign! They had great suggestions for places to eat, and accepted our feedback of other places we found and liked. This is more the sort of place we like to stay rather than the glitzy hotels with their "amenities"...I would much rather spend my money here. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Room 3 downstairs, we could hear some walking on the floor above us, but this type of hotel attracts...

My husband and I just returned from spending 5 nights in a 1 bedroom King Suite at the Deerfield Lodge. I am sorry to say that the property has absolutely no amenities of any kind. While the suite was very large, it did not appear to be very clean. In the 5 nights we were there, the room was never vaccuumed, sheets never changed and bathroom amenities were never replaced. There was a Keurig coffee maker in the room, but the glasses and cups were not replaced daily, either. I had to wash them in the bathroom. Andrea and the front desk assistant were very nice, even getting a radio so my husband could hear his Lake Tahoe radio show. There is also NO soundproofing in the rooms. We only had one common wall, but when the people in the next room had a normal conversation, it was as though they were in our room with us. In fact, the 2nd day we were there, they were talking at 7 a.m. and it woke both of us up! On check out, I mentioned this and was told that , yes, they've heard this before. This is an old motel which was remodeled some years ago and is showing its ago. It is by no means a four or five star resort. All employees leave the property by 6 p.m. and that's that. They just leave the mini-lobby open for anybody to wander into.....a bit scary if you ask me! We were very disappointed. We paid a four star + price for a three star (being generous) property. I would also like to add that we had 2 ceiling fans, but no A/C. The ceiling fans didn't do the job and the room was extremely warm.....so much so that we had to leave the sliding door open at night.

Room Tip: If you are looking for any amenities, do not stay here. They don't have any.
