This was my first time to this location, and I will definitely go again. I've lived in the Tahoe area for almost a year now and never knew that pier was down there...It is behind the CVS in the Bijou area. There is a fantastic sandy public beach there as well as a place to rent jet skis and boats.
Onto the restaurant...it is on the upper level of the very unassuming building on the pier. It is small, but wonderful windows with views of the lake and beach. There is a small bar, my GG Bloody Mary was great. I was there with friends from work for lunch and pretty much everyone ordered the crab cakes from the app menu for their entrée...did not disappoint. They were not filled with a bunch of fillers, taste was very clean. A friend and I also split a "crunchy Asian salad" that was good (although if you order it as a split they charge extra so we just each ordered something and shared).
The only disappointment was the fruit tart that the server recommended as her favorite...it has some mold starting on the raspberries and was sent back (and while the server's apology was sincere, a manager offering another choice on the house would have been better, although that did not happen).
I did look at the dinner menu and there were some yummy choices (including escarole that one of the girls I was will said she's had and they were yummy). Not a huge menu, but enough different selections that I wouldn't be worried about someone not finding something they liked.
Not sure if I'd take smaller children there, I didn't see a kids menu and the place is just a little small for highchairs (teens would be fine).
AND THAT VIEW!!!!!!
