“disappointed with our room and service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Arrived on August 22, went early and asked when room would be ready, desk staff took our cell # and said they would call when it was ready, this was about 11:30am. Other gentleman in the office informed us check in was at 4:00, as we left we heard him chewing out the staff and telling them check in was at 4:00pm. We knew check in was at 4:00, but in the past and at other hotels they let you check in early. We went to lunch and checked back around 1:00, was told this time that check in was 4:00, but they would call if it was earlier. Went to the beach and sat in the sun for 3 hours, no call went back to hotel at 4:00 and was given a room. When we went to the room we noticed it was not updated at all, was told several months ago that all rooms and beds were being replaced. The bedspread and mattress looked as if they came over on the mayflower. Had a piece of foam on top of the mattress that looked like it should be in the garbage. We immediately went to the office and complained, and he was very nice and gave us another room. By this time it was almost 5:00, time for us to get to the concert that gates opened at 5:00,would have been nice to have gotten to room early to settle in and relax in the hot tubs. Don't know if we'll return again, the last two stays have both been 'bad experiences',this has been our favorite hotel for years and have recommended it to many of our relatives.

Very short walk to the beach at the waterfront. The rooms were very clean and fresh. The grounds were very well kept and maintained. Short walk to the major casinos in Nevada. I would consider staying here again. Well worth the money and the location is very nice too.

We spent our honeymoon at this resort and it was fantastic! My wife and I were highly impressed with the room and the and the location. It had a very romantic setting and we used all of amenities to its fullest. There were plenty of animals around which was the only negative since I am definitely not an animal lover. But overall, it was a blast!!!

Inside the room was old and tired. The bedspread and furniture looks like they have been there for years. We were there in the Summer time. You can tell the place is well beat up by skiers during the Winter. The two lumpy king size pillows on the bed must have been at least 10 years old! They were pretty gross and unusable. We called down and a housekeeping person brought up 3 different kinds of pillows, all pretty well used. We were glad we were given an upstairs room. Each step we took was squeaky to us. I would have hated to be downstairs from us. For the most part this place was pretty clean inside and out.
When traveling either business or pleasure, one of our 'must haves' is a decent internet (wifi) connection to check email, etc. When we checked into this motel we were able to connect, once we did the connection was so slow. A call to the receptionist and after a conversation, she finally agreed to reset the internet router. 20 minutes later we had a connection. We had an OK connection. A few hours later we had to call again because we couldn't connect. The night shift person told us to use "Google"! He had an attitude which was not understanding or customer friendly. Not sure if he knew what a router was let alone how to reset it. Nothing changed, we were unable to connect to the internet.
One of the best things about this place is the location. Walking distance to dining, gambling and the Lake Tahoe beach. The front desk will give you a Beach Pass! It is a lovely clean beach with a great view.
The grounds are pretty well groomed and we saw some improvement being made during our brief stay. If I was the owner or manager I would make sure improvements were made inside the rooms like replacing the bedding and increasing the internet speed. The staff needs to be cross-trained on all technical issues. If I could have logged into the internet better, I know I would have been able to log into TripAdvisor and given the motel a better rating!

Room Tip: Old buildings, so request an upstairs room!

I really liked the location - walking distance to the beach, grocery store, restaurants, coffee, movie theaters, and Stateline casinos. It seems to be a remodeled motor lodge built in the 1950's I'm guessing. While it has been nicely done it still has pretty thin walls and ceilings. We were in a downstairs suite at the end of the building. You could hear the creaks from people walking above and muffled voices from next door. The suite had plenty of room for 4 with a full kitchen that was very convenient for breakfast. Decor was very much "Tahoe-feeling" with pine paneling, reclaimed wood furniture, and recently redone. While we didn't have a pet the hotel does welcome dogs which was kinda cool to see them around. That worried my wife a lot since she is allergic to most dogs, but they assured us of thorough cleanings and she didn't have any problems. The bed and pillows were too soft for our taste. I think part of the problem with the bed was the mattress topper pad. We sank too much into the bed. The pool seemed to be pretty nice, but we didn't go in since a nice beach is a couple of blocks away.

Room Tip: Try to get an upstairs room or suite

The location and staff were awesome (shout out to Heidy for helping us with reservations and amenities). You can tell that it's a pet friendly hotel, what with all the dogs being walked regularly. The carpets could use some cleaning; however the hotel was also going through a renovation process while were staying there, so it's not out of the question that the issue has been resolved. If you're looking to stay in the heart of South Lake Tahoe on the cheap, this is a great venue. It's within easy walking distance of the beach, Riley's grocery, the Heavenly Village shops, gondola, and movie theatre, and the three casinos immediately over the state line.

We stopped for one night in South Lake Tahoe with our toddler, and stayed at "3 Peaks Resort." The location was great!! It was a short walk to a lakeside Marina and beach access. If you went the opposite direction you would be right in the heart of downtown.
We opted for the junior suite, so our toddler could use the sofa couch. The room was essentially two normal rooms combined into one. (This is helpful if you have children who have an earlier bedtime.) Our room was alright, it accommodated our family of 3 well. The tub and shower area were a bit tight, but functional. There was a small kitchen, but we didn't use because we ate out in town.
I would stay here again. It wasn't luxurious, but for a small family it worked well.
