“Honeymoon Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

After reading all the positive reviews on Trip Advisor and an article in the Sacramento Magazine recommending it as an romantic getaway, I booked it for the ever important, once in a lifetime, honeymoon stay. We stayed in the Black Bear private cabin. It had a rustic decor appropriate for Lake Tahoe. The bathroom had a very spacious shower and large vanity. The kitchenette was well equipped. The gas fireplace was perfect, because we could leave it on all night, and not have to worry about a log expiring. It even has a convenient switch next to the bed to turn it off. The bed was really comfortable and a nice size for a honeymooning couple. The breakfasts were delivered to the room and absolute gourmet. I was really impressed with the breakfast, not the usually bagels and cream cheese, but finely garnished and tasteful breakfast fit for a 4 star restaurant. The grounds are very well groomed and I really liked the fountain and stream next to our cabin made for a nice wilderness feeling. The gardens have lovely flowers and the main building has a neat cabin feel with well furnished and appointed central area. The front staff was helpful with maps for activities in the area and even booked a reservation for us at the Zagat rated Italian restaurant walking distance. Overall, we really enjoyed our honeymoon stay and hope to stay at the Inn for anniversaries.

Room Tip: Private cabins are well worth the extra money, Black Bear is great.

“Perfection in Tahoe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

I have stayed here twice and recently attended a wedding here. Beautiful setting. The rooms are all upscale "rustic". The lake is just a walk away but this place takes you away from the general crowds and noise. Peaceful. The Innkeepers are attentive to every detail. The breakfast is 5 star.

Room Tip: All the rooms are unique. The cabins are more private

“Consistently Excellent Year After Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

This is one of the most charming B&B's in the country. The Innkeepers, Jerry & Kevin are certainly among the most personable hosts in the business and their attention to detail is extraordinary. Breakfasts are varied and delicious, either in room or in the beautiful, high ceiling, log cabin style dining room next to the main lobby fireplace and lounge area. Featuring several second floor rooms in the main building as well as stand alone, small cabins; each is very creatively decorated and immaculately maintained. We have been coming here since shortly after they opened and each time we find everything fresh and clean with the same ebullient attitude by staff and owners.
We are summertime visitors, usually staying in August/September for the opportunity to hike the ski runs and especially the Powerline Trail, located just up the road from the Inn. This hike has several secondary trails, so take a map to pick your distances. The trail views are spectacular with many vistas of the lake and west shore Sierras. On this stay we were in the Honeymoon Cabin at the very back of the property. Wander through the amazing, diverse gardens with numerous small animal woodcarvings, flower beds and unique antiques to acces this romantic hideaway. Featuring a small kitchenette, living room and see through fireplace into the bedroom, this suite also has a large bathroom with a big jacuzzi tub, large walk-in shower, private toilet stall and double vanities, the perfect combination for newlyweds just getting to know each other.

“A perfect place to honeymoon”

Nothing short of wonderful. Friendly and helpful innkeepers, great cabins and scrumptious breakfasts. Stay in one of the private cabins--it is well worth it. This place made our honeymoon extra special.

“An Oasis in South Lake Tahoe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

This is a superb bed and breakfast which is a delightful retreat from the general crowds and chaos of South Lake Tahoe. There are several lodge rooms and three or four cottages. We again stayed in the same cottage we did several years ago and it was as enjoyable and peaceful now as it was then. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate, and the included breakfasts are creative, healthy and delicious. This is the best bed and breakfast we have stayed at in the U.S.
